I guess this goes well with the thread I just saw a few spaces down...but what the hell. With Clara on the way out, who would you chose for the next companion? It can be ANYONE--and I do mean anyone--who has not been a "full-fledged" companion before. So, Osgood? Sure. Amy? No. Be creative. Pretty anything goes. Standard av rules apply. Craig Ferguson. For multiple reasons: he's a true fan, he's funny and he & Capaldi used to be best pals.

Now that Ferguson's show ended, I figured it's just a matter of time before Capaldi gets him on somehow. But I'm not sure if the UK would let him back on their soil, so...

Craig Ferguson isn't hosting the Late Late Show any more but he is hosting Celebrity Name Game. (Although, I would assume that that would be a much easier schedule.)

Is there actually something preventing Ferguson from returning to the U.K.? Is he a tax exile or something?

Read the 10th Doctor novel "Judgment of the Judoon." There's a one-off companion in that one named Nikki Jupiter, who is totally a Veronica Mars homage. (She's a young, blonde private detective who works with her father, etc.)
