Recapping last week's contest:

Yours truly won the episode contest for Vanishing Point, with JiNX coming in second.

For the theme Vulcan Ships, there was a 3-way tie for first place between kalysto, JiNX, and HR.

For the random theme Armor, another 3-way tie! kalysto, YYZ, and HR.

Congrats, all!


The next episode is Precious Cargo.

The Theme is Guest Actresses. No, they don't have to be acting-challenged. Enterprise episodes only, please.

Random Theme is Love-Hate Relationships. Couples, partners, allies, etc. Any SF/F source is fine.

I'm curious: What would be the difference if it had won a previous contest?

FWIW I had a participant recycling one of his winnning avatar in the TNG contest, and that was only after a few contests. My opinion was (and is) as long as it fits the theme/episode it's fair game. If the voters want to hold it against someone that he's recycling an old avatar (a fromer winner or not) it's up to them. Just my 2 cents.

My thought is that a winning avatar has had its day in the sun. Like Miss America passing the crown, or a film winning the Oscar.

So would that include avs that won in other contests (like SF&F)? I sometimes recycle avs that may or may not have won (I don't keep a running record of how I do. It would be too depressing. ).

And hey, that's just when I'm running this shindig. As far as I'm concerned, next week when somebody else is in charge, whatever they say goes. I have no idea whether there should be a hard and fast rule on this.

Well, I don't think McCoy and Spock ever actually hated each other. There were times they got along, and times they didn't. T'Pol and Shran were downright civil by the end of The Aenar.

To clarify: I don't mean for folks to take "love-hate relationships" literally. It's a figure of speech. Y'know...in the spirit of Precious Cargo...?
