Can I ask a question here? Why are we only getting one vote in these contests? I've seen multiple vote options elsewhere. IIRC, we've allowed 2 votes if there are at least 5 entries and only one vote if there are fewer than 5.

I''ll echo the question. I went over the test forum and played around with setting up a poll and definitely found an option for multiple votes.

Best poll I've seen by far is the one in the Voyager forum av contest. Turbo
did one huge poll for all three contests. (Link)

Why are we only getting one vote in these contests?

There's no more "You may vote for only two" option. There's a "vote for one" and "multiple choice," which allows a voter to vote as much as they want--which is why a poll can allow for three contests at once.

If y'all want to "vote for exactly two" in each contest, and continue to keep the voting private, we need to vote on the honor system. The other option for the contest runner is to make the voting public, where the voters' usernames appear next to the choices they voted for.

What would be the problem with going public? We are doing it in the DS9 avatar contest and nobody has said something against it. Why should anybody not want to say who s/he voted for?

I've noticed that some people here vote, but choose not to say who they voted for. There are some who might like being able to vote without anyone looking over their shoulder, is all. *shrug* But it's up to the contest runner.

I don't mind public voting.

I don't mind the open voting. I sometimes don't say who I voted for because...well I forget to post, or in some other cases if it's a close race I'll just keep my mouth shut so that I don't bias the next voter.

When I finally got around to my Episode entry, I ended up with about half a dozen that I really liked. (Trip won the coin toss.)

Thanks! I recycled it from an SF&F contest. I ran out of steam after capping for three avs yesterday (2 for ENT and one for SF&F).

I'll go with the Hoshi av for my episode entry. I've gotten rather fond of it since I started actually wearing it.

I have no problem with making the voting public. Most of the time I don't comment on who I voted for under the old system because it took me so long that I couldn't remember who I finally went with! At least the new system shows me which ones
I actually picked.

As I discovered when I had a brain freeze and selected 2/10 instead of 9/10 when I voted in a recent poll in the Stargate forum.
