This is Marc Alaimo playing the villain in an 80s B-movie called Arena. Haven't seen the movie, but boy when I saw this screenshot...I couldn't pass it up! Kind of a Lucius Malfoy effect going on here...

I made that screenshot... I hope that I am still allowed to vote for your entry?

The movie can be watched on Youtube. It's a bit cheesy, and just your (stereo)typical boxing story, only with aliens involved in some kind of multi-species wrestling... but it's still worth watching (and downloading, and making screenshots...) for... you know.

Interesting fact: Armin Shimerman was in the same movie, playing Alaimo's character's slimy, weasely sidelick named Weezil with a makeup that makes Ferengis look pretty.

You can (if you have a TV card), and I've done it with other stuff, but that's not where this one came from. Even if I wanted to buy it on VHS, it would be beyond complicated for me to do that, if even possible. Maybe I shouldn't have said anything, I don't know what the rules are about... nevermind...

I've finally decided to enter an avatar contest... yes, this is my first time!

Episode:

I was a bit worried that it was from the same scene as Eyes's avatar, but I found this particular shot interesting, particularly because of Odo's gesture... it weirdly reminded me of Michelangelo's Adam

DS9 theme:
I can't decide which one to use, so I'll ask you for advice...

Still a vedek at this point, but I think she was at her creepiest and most effective in her very first episode. Creepy when she's glowering, creepier when she's smiling, and maybe the creepiest when she's smiling and hugging a child.

Random theme:
I wanted to use Nana Visitor in Wildfire or Armin Shimerman as Principal Snyder in Buffy, but I wasn't satisfied with any of the avatars I could get from the pics of the former, and couldn't even find many pics of the latter. So, instead, I'm going with Alexander Siddig as Hannibal Barca in the BBC film Hannibal, because it's so un-Bashir.
I can't decide between these two - closeup or no-closeup?

A week to enter. People might be busy during weekdays, and the more entries, the merrier. Voting can be 3 or 4 days, since one needs less time to vote than to come up with an avatar.

Sorry I'm late with the promised voting thread. I fell asleep on the sofa as soon as I got home yesterday. I've been working a lot lately.

We used to have a 5 day entry period and three days of voting a long time ago but somehow it changed. I think a 7 day entry period and three days of voting would be enough time to finish the avatars. As you said most people enter during the first week.
