Technically, I'm not new. I used to post daily during the first part of Enterprise's first season. We don't have a UPN station here, but at that time I had my Directv card fixed. Then Black Sunday came and everyone's card went down forever. No more Enterprise for me. Then, recently, I was given the first 3 seasons which had been downloaded and watched them all....after season 3, I was really hooked and decided to get back to my Trek roots. I tried to post here again, but after a three year absence, the BB dumped me, therefore I had to re-register. So I'm a cadet again. Oh well.

I'm old enough the remember TOS in its first run. Two of my kids are major Treksters and the other is a jock. We anxiously await for the current episode to finish downloading. I hope to post here again frequently and re-establish those relationships that I let slip for the past three years.

Hi everyone!

Wow, ticktrek, I guess I'm kind of like you. I actually used to post here a lot. I registered just before Enterprise premiered under the name "The Klingon From Oklahoma", and I racked up a number of posts for a while until the BBS changed formats. I started posting less frequently, and then not at all. I've still been watching Enterprise, of course. Recently, I decided to come back and post here, but I found that my old username no longer worked. (I guess that's what happens when you take two years off.) So anyway, I'm back as a cadet with a new name...and hopefully I'll have a good time, and such. :D

Greetings - I used to post here a lot before Enterprise went on the air, but I forgot my username, so had to rejoin. My name's Shane Roney, from Lima, Ohio. I work as a webdesigner and DJ for Clearchannel Radio. I moonlight as a high school marching band director as well. Being a designer, I look forward to many entertaining "Photoshop This" threads.

Welcome back ShaneR. I love your entry in the photoshop contest. You might want to think about entering the avatar contest, too. Hint, hint! :D

Hi. My name's Chelsea and I have historically been a lurker. This is, in fact, my first post to any kind of disscussion/chat/BB ever, so please excuse any kind of mistakes I might make in my ignorance. I'm 28 (oh god) and live in the radically wierd city of Baltimore, MD, best known for it's high homicide rate and the abundance of drug dealers (thank you HBO!). As you may have deduced from my thoroughly un-subtle screen-name, I am currently dealing with a very deep and abiding sense of dispair and defeatism, and as a result have turned to this forum and internet surfing in general to drown my sorrows. I have worked for years as an environmental activist, and quit my job to fundraise and canvass for the Democratic National Committee and the Kerry campaign. I am now pushing coffee to pay the rent until I can pull myself together sufficiently to look for a job with a progressive non-profit or legislator. My degree is in Philosophy, with a strong concentration on 19th Century German philosophers in general and Nietzche in particular.

I attribute my fondness for Star Trek to my dad, who was a fan of TOS and took me to see the movies starting with TSFS. Although he watched re-runs of the series, I always found it to be cheesy, even though I loved the films. I guess after seeing the Star Wars trillogy as a wee tot, I just couldn't get past the ad-hoc feeling of the special effects. (Sorry, I know this might not sit well with some people, but I gotta be true, right?) Anyway, I was pumped for TNG, and actually recorded every first-run episode from Encounter at Farpoint. Loved everything about it, except the second season and Dr. Pulaski. I kept those tapes for years until I started recording over them (blasphemy, I know, and it hurt, but I had to put The X-Files somewhere, didn't I?) Watched most of DS9 and all of Voyager, though I agree with many on the boards that it had more weak points than strong. I was excited for Enterprise, I loved Quantum Leap and looked forward to seeing the background of the Federation played out. However, I lost interest during the second season, and only re-discovered the show about halfway though the third, which seems to be a typical story. Now I'm back to my old habit of recording every episode. And trolling the internet for spoilers. In fact, I have always enjoyed spoilers at least as much as the actual shows...any tips here people?

I know that this has probably gone on long enough, but a few tidbits about me...I don't actually like much sci-fi, though I love The Hitch-Hiker's Guide books and the BBC production, actually liked Earth2, grew up on Star Wars(hatehatehate the new ones, though), 2001 and...well, that's about it. I do loooves me some epic fantasy: LOTR, of course, Robert Jordan, David Eddings, Terry Brooks, Kathryn Kurtz etc. In terms of "serios"lit, I'm a huge fan of Hunter S. Thompson, Kurt Vonnugut, David Foster Wallace, Keroac, David Sedaris, Orwell, Kafka, Dostoyevsk and on and on and on... Movies? I run the gammut. Music? The same. TV? Well, I alreadymentioned the X-Files, but also, Twin Peaks, Northern Exposure, Family Guy, Home Movies, The Daily Show (the only news I can watch right now), Mystery Science Theatre and cheesy old sitcoms from the eighties.

Oh god, I'm sorry. That was way too much. You're all already annoyed by me aren't you? Don't worry, I don't think I'll post very much. Rest easy. Thanks for your patience.

Peace. :D

Welcome to the TrekBBS and to the world of discussion boards flamingliberal!

I hope you enjoy yourself here! :)

An extra smile because you love The X Files! :) :)

Hi there, pleased to meet y'all. I guess a rating thread is maybe not so good for introducing yourself, so I'll do that here
I've been lurking for quite a while so it feels strange to post being familiar with many of you guys, but you not knowing me. Well I hope I can change that ;)

I had been a Trek fan for a long time, TOS and TNG mostly (my favorite species is not hard to guess ;), but as so many I stopped watching after Enterprise's first season. In fact I did not watch any Trek for one year, guess I needed some off time. I returned for the 3rd season, as a much less fan but mostly to find out how royally B&B would screw up with the new "ratings-aimed gimmicks". I was actually positively surprised, and with not caring about continuity and stuff so ridigly anymore Enterprise now is a kind of a guilty pleasure for me to watch

I'm 26 and have been a Star Trek fan for as long as I can remember. I haven't been too thrilled with a lot of the Trek products that have come out lately. I wasn't too thrilled with the first season of Enterprise and I stopped watching mainly due to my work schedule more than lack of interest. But, I managed to catch a lot of season 3 and was very impressed by the Xindi storyline and season 4 is quickly starting to hook me.

I've been a lurker on this board for a while just reading up on other people's opinions of this and that. Now that my interest in Star Trek is climbing again and I'm looking to taking a more active role in the online Trek community.

BTW, if you haven't been, I highly suggest you all check out The Experience in Las Vegas, I have a blast every time I go there. I was there at the Alien Bash and that was a night of endless Trek fun.

Look forward to talking with all of you about Enterprise epsiodes.

Welcome to all the newbies I haven't acknowledged since the last time I was in this thread. :)

Hope you all enjoy this crazy, bass-ackwards place like the vets do. :p

Oh...and ask about the Earl's great introductory package!

Thanks :)

Carrying the katra of a poster of ancient times, maybe I'm not that much of a newbie here ;)

I'm not familiar with the new board software though. How many posts do I need to post images and have my avatar shown?

hi there this is my first post although Ive been lurking nearly a year my real names patrick and im a 27 year old construction worker from wv I have a 1 year old daughter and play drums in a couple bands Ive watched trek and other sci fi since I was a toddler so I guess this is where I belong... see u all soon ;)

Thank you all for the warm welcome to the forum. I forgot to mention what it is that I do in my earlier post. I'm in the US Army working as a nurse on the ICU of the Army burn unit, tough job but someone has to do it. It's challenging, rewarding and can be frustrating at times, but in the end it's all about making a difference.

Anyways, look forward to discussing the show.

Hi all,

I am a lurker and a relative newbie to organized Trek fandom. I haven't missed an episode since 1987 and I am in the process of reading most of the books, but there are not yet any Mego Spock dolls on my shelf. Give it time....

As some of you may know from my user name I am also a fan of "that other science fiction TV program." I am a railway nut who is almost (but not quite) 30, I have a lovely wife of 4+ years, and I own a company that produces (or does its best to produce) model trains.

I am very proud to say that I have been enormously impressed with Enterprise, and my love for the program has grown with every season. It is a shame that many ST fans (and members of the public) have not given it more of a chance. Just because a format is different from what we as fans are used to does not make it bad. I am looking forward to immense criticism from the fans of that other SF TV program when its new series is broadcast next year -- they will probably hate it because the sets don't wobble.

Regards from Toronto,

Jason Shron
