Enjoying the harvest...

I don't have a green thumb, but my wonderful wife does. She loves to garden, but with work has cut down a bit. We only have tomatoes and potatoes now.

I am sooo enjoying the tomatoes right now. I really don't enjoy a BLT as much as I do when it is right from the garden. The tomatoes are especially good and plentiful this year, since we had a hot, dry summer.

I even enjoy them as a side dish, with a little salt and pepper.

I thought this would be a good time a year for other gardeners to chime in with how they're enjoying their harvest this year.

^Nothing beats homegrown tomatoes. I swear that of all veggies, the difference between fresh and store-bought is most pronounced in tomatoes. While at my mom's this summer, I benefited from her little garden, and the tomatoes were like candy. Especially when warmed by the sun.

With being away in the UK all summer, we didn't plant our garden this year. However, we're still harvesting apples, raspberries, and rhubarb. I did plant a few zucchini plants, and I've been getting a fair number since our return. Oh, we did put potatoes into tubs before we left, and they've been fairly decent. There's nothing better than home grown potatoes.
