Enemies Faceoff (Season 1)

This is similar to the one in the Voyager thread, but this time it's with the TNG series.

Who was the biggest pain in the Enterprise crew's butt in season 1? Who do you think caused them the most grief? You can choose two.

I know that some of the characters in this poll aren't considered "bad guys". However, they were the primary antagonists in the episodes that featured them. That's why they're on the poll.

Each week will be a new season - and therefore a new contest.

I chose Q because he was by and far the best antagonist to come out of Season 1...but given your qualification that it should be the one who caused the most grief, I felt compelled to also choose Armus. If you were simply asking who were the best/favorite villains, I wouldn't have touched Armus with a 10-meter deuterium pole.

I picked Lore and Remmick. To me, Q is an antagonist but not always the enemy. I think he's the best recurring character in the series and is a great foil for Picard, but I don't view him as an enemy.

Lore is pure evil. Brilliant, superhuman strength, and manipulative. Plus I love the sadistic relationship with Data.

Remmick is on a witch hunt in his first appearance, and the leader of the alien parasite incursion. The bulging neck exploding Remmick scene is still pretty gruesome in my book.

Q (I thought obviously) & Remmick, for being a total PIA in COming of Age, and then for being Chief parasite in Conspiracy. To me, that must have been the truest, biggest headache, thinking about the full implications of the conspiracy aliens...

Great to see this poll over here at TNG! I went with Q and Armus (I would have gone with Remmick and Lore next).

When I first saw this poll over at Voyager and thought about how one would play out in this forum, I couldn't help but think that Q and the Borg are going to clean house. It'll be interesting to see if anyone else can stay close.

I was thinking about doing this kind of thread in each forum, and then having an ultimate enemy face off in General Trek with the winners from each forum. Then I realized how time consuming finding all the enemies from each season is. It would be cool if some of the forum regulars in TOS and DS9 took it up too.


I voted for Q and Armus. Armus was pure evil, killed Tasha, tortured the crew etc. I'd like him to move on but I know Q is going to win.

A series of DS9 polls would be a worthy venture...but you could save yourself some time and just make it a three-way between Dukat, Weyoun, and Kai Winn.
