I kind of wish shows would stop trying to set up these big mysteries that are supposed to blow everyone's minds when we get the answer, because they very rarely ever seem to actually live up to those expectations, and then the fans all get pissed.

Alas, at this point I think the fact that mystery boxes keep the show trending on social media while the season airs is pretty much the main reason so many shows still bother at this point.

To be fair, that's always been Davies' modus operandi since the beginning, back during LOST's height.

But I agree with the sentiment and I had hoped he had grown past it after doing Years and Years and It's a Sin.

I wish the plotting would be more similar to Years and Years certainly, but it does prove that he sees Who in a different lens from the rest of his work.

If only Sutekh was more present in the story, not disposed halfway through the story, and the Ruby story didn't meander for as long as it did, it might've been more effective.

It was fine. My only issue is Ruby’s mom pointing. It doesn’t make sense, why was she pointing?

Because it was stunning and brave, and amazing, and just so exciting.

Oh.

No, it was just because Russell thought it would get people talking. Then at the very end she was apparently pointing at a sign that they couldn’t see in the recording.
Nor could anyone in the other times she appeared earlier, not in a recording, because it wasn’t actually there.
None of it ever mattered. It was all about the clicks.
