Ellen being gay hurt 'Idol' ratings

Hmmm, my guess would be that the real reason the ratings are down is that the show sucks, not so much that Ellen is gay. I haven't watched the show in many years, but isn't Simon's opinion the only one that really counts? I mean, who really gives a shit about what Randy, Ellen, Paula, or whoever that other one is?

And even with Simon's opinion...he used to be more outrageous.

But after a while, his criticisms start sounding the same. (How many trips does Smion actually make to kareoke bars and cruise lines nowadays, anyway)?

i think he even realizes it, and has been more mellow over the years.

i'm not sure what can be done to make the show fresher.

First of all as a gay Christian I love Ellen even though she isn't very musically inclined (worst judge ever) I don't think that was the reasoning to the downfall of the show. I think it would have to do with the fact that American has no taste in singers. (worst singers ever) I didn't like a single person and of course the one that COULD sing didn't win. So I don't think Ellen is the problem I think it's just the show in general is falling apart. Thank God Simon's gone.

I don't know. I think to a degree Ellen is musically inclined, at least on the level that she does love music and knows what she loves. At least she tried, I would say, because it looks like everyone else just phones it in anymore, and that too may be why the show is leveling off.

I love Ellen I watch her show every day!
The show was ground breaking and great when it started, now it's kinda dull and boring

One persons opinion does not a whole religion make.

In fact, I wouldn't even label the hardcore born again evangelical crowd as Christian. The hate they spread in direct contrast to what Jesus taught. They use his name for their message instead going other things he actually taught, like helping those in need.

Second off, the ratings crop has nothing to do with Ellen's orientation. If there is any fault on her end is that while she's a brilliant comedian, she is not qualified to critique professional musical talent. IMHO, the show is just tired.
