Elizabeth Taylor and 'the ring'

Cheapjack

Fleet Captain
Does anyone know if it was buried with her?

You know, the one that Richard Burton bid so many hundred thousand for, a good portion of his wealth, in the 60's?

What happened to it? Should it be resold?

From what I've read on the net, the big one was sold to fund a hospital in Africa.

Don't know about the others.

I heard it’s going up on eBay along with William Shatner’s kidney stones and a hash-brown patty that miraculously resembles Jesus.

I doubt it was buried with her. Unless specifically requested, all jewelry is removed prior to burial in the United States. It would be part of her estate.

She auctioned it off for AIDS research. Didn't she?

If she did it's probably been cut up into tiny pieces and being sold all over the world.

I really have my doubts that she would be buried with it. When her third husband, Mike Todd, was buried, there were rumors that he was buried with a ten-karat diamond ring that Liz gave him. Grave robbers dug him up to try to steal the ring, except it wasn't in there. His family had to have him re-buried and have the headstone repaired. I don't think Liz would want her children to go through that again.

Why does one even know stuff like this?

Reading trash magazines in the dentist's waiting room?

Actually, it was a story in the Chicago Tribune the day after Liz died.
