http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/...teven-Moffat-and-following-David-Tennant.html

It's a detailed look at the last 6 months, confirming a lot of what we already know, but highlights include:

 • The Atraxi from the first episode are "thuggish galactic policemen" who apparently threaten to boil the Earth!
 • Amy has no parents! (though judging by this interview with Justin Richards, she might have an Aunt.)
 • We can expect Matt's regeneration trauma to last most of the first episode.
 • The new TARDIS set won't be revealed until the tail end of 'Eleventh Hour.'
 • The new TARDIS set "must be three times the size of Tennant’s, on multiple levels with staircases in between." It's "Less grubby than its predecessor, with a transparent plastic floor on the main level, its walls are resplendent with polished copper and its central column features a blown glass decoration that could be straight from Tales of the Unexpected. There are old car seats and downstairs – downstairs! – a swing. With a nod to Paul McGann’s Tardis, the central column features an old TV screen on an extendable trellis. It also has a 1980s-style computer keyboard, and a His-Master’s-Voice style trumpet speaker. " ;)
 • and Smith's Doctor is described as "Less prickly than Eccleston and without the slapstick of Tennant, he brings an air of muddled intensity that’s a bit reminiscent of, say, Tom Baker (though without the stripy scarf). "

Those sound like good highlights. I hadn't seen the specific descriptions on the TARDIS interior before this. Can't wait to see it.

The caption for the second pic: "blimey, another dropped call? Arcangel has gone downhill since the Master left."

Interesting. I must say that I'm pumped for "The Eleventh Hour". I think I'm more pumped for this than I was "New Earth" but then again we had the Christmas Invasion to introduce us to David's Tenth Doctor. Is it just me or has it been a really long wait for Series Five? Obviously to do with the Specials.

I think announcing the 11th Doctor almost a year before he appeared on screen might have something to do with that.

Could we be seeing a glimpse of the new walls behind Smith in this pic? Or is that from Tennant's TARDIS? Hard to tell when it's not all lit up.

It looks burnt out to me, so I'd presume Tennant's. And I've heard that the new one is brighter.

Ecchelston/Tennant's TARDIS set is right next door to the new one. Presumably we get one last glimpse of the interior as Eleven rushes out.

How about: "This screen's quite reflective, and...oh God."
"Aliens are looking for 'Prisoner 0' who is hiding on Earth (Prisoner 0 is probably a dog)
Earth is surrounded by a force field and there's an announcement through mobile phones and the ice cream truck speakers (among other things) that all humonoid life will be destroyed if non-humanoids do not announce their presence.
You can hear the doctor call out the suspect.

Same here. But of course with Tennant, all you were basically doing was just plugging a new actor into the same show (same sets, same style, etc).

With Series 5, pretty much EVERYTHING is new, and we're not quite sure what to expect. Which, for me, makes it exciting as hell.

Erm, sort of? I think that a lot of the emotional tone of the program changed when Tennant came aboard. Really, even the color pallet to me looked a lot more vivid in Series Two than in Series One.

I have to wonder how many times can humans be threaten with desruction before they hear it *shrug* and carry on with there daily lives waiting for the next threat to come.

Cue "panic" shots.

I don't know about the emotional tone, but I agree with the "look" of the show. I kind of attribute a lot of that to the fact that artist Bryan Hitch was the production designer or something for the first season, but it changed to someone else for season two onwards. Season One, for anyone who knows Hitch's style from comic books, can see his 'rounding' effect to everything in the first season. Eccleston even LOOKS like a character Hitch would draw.

Just a guess on my part, really...

On the other hand, how many times can they be threatened with death by natural disaster before they stop panicking? ;)

Obviously Tennant was a much lighter, more enthusiastic Doctor than Eccleston, but it felt to me like the underlying stories were still being told the same basic way, with the same kind of dialogue, pacing, etc.

At least for me, that undeniable RTD style overrode whatever small changes there might have been.

About all it accomplished was turning humanity into a bunch of dicks once we did make it into space (empires, enslaving other races, etc).

The description of the TARDIS interior sounds promising. I can't wait to see it! Hopefully, I'll manage to avoid seeing pictures of it before I see the episode.

Same. However, i am forced to take the description with a pinch of salt so as not to get too over hyped for the reveal. Besides, before actually seeing, we dont know if thats a legit description, i hope it is cos it sounds fraking awsome, but on the same note, i dont want to be disapointed when it turns out that its not as grand as described.

Jus as a side note, EMH, check out the tardis interior thread where ive uploaded some images from the trailer. The floor is not longer grated metal, it has a polished kinda look just like the classic show that used the sound stage floor. :techman:

Because in different regions of the UK, wales, Scotland, London they sometimes show programmes at different times or other programmes. Usually they all show big shows like the Doc at the same time.
