EFX Mark IX Science Tricorder -- Batteries Included or No?

Got my First Contact IX TR-560 Tricorder replica today. When I open it up, it doesn't turn on as it says. But they also do not specifically state that batteries are included. So before I got to the trouble of un-doing the back unit and chucking in the batteries, I thought I'd ask... anyone else who got one, know if the batteries are included/installed?

It takes 3 AAA batteries, which are not included, IIRC.

And no, I don't own one. I wish I did. :wah: I just hang out on forums where lots of people do.

Thankies.

FYI, it is awesome-cakes. Hehe. But it's also a lot of money!

$366 when you add-in shipping and... well, that's a lot of dough!

Whhaattt?? Over $300 and they can't toss in some cheapo knock-off batteries?
Even Playmates includes batteries.
