So, playing Gears of War 2 tonight, and what happens? Glitch. Thinking nothign of it, I power the unit off, back on and.....RROD. Sigh. I think I'm SOL because I think it's way past warranty. Not sure exactly how long I've had it, but why the hell would it do it now?

If it's the infamous 3 red rings, and you're within 3 years of buying it, try calling Microsoft support anyway and telling them you've got the 3 red rings - they should send you the stuff to get it replaced free of charge...

Damn that sucks. Happened to me in the middle of Crackdown. Phillip is right though, as long as you haven't had it more than 3 years, MSFT will take care of it. It's a pain, but they will fix it.

Yeah, my 360 went RRoD after the regular warranty expired but I was within the three-year RRoD thing they have going on. They sent me back the same shell, but the insides were completely different and thus my DLC all had a different license.

Mine went a couple of weeks ago, got it back on Wednesday - but they sent a new one with the Jasper chipset

I got my 360 a month after they came out. It died(RROD) in early October of this year and I sent it in-they replaced it, no problem. And I never even sent in the original warranty form. Of course, I couldn't face 7-12 business days without COD4 so I bought an Arcade unit to hold me over-and now I have one to keep at home, and one to take with on trips.
