On Star Trek, they don't really talk about current Earth culture. (such as music, entertainment, art, etc.) They only reference culture from before the 21st century.

In Trek eleven, Kirk's motorcycle had rimless wheels, but still had wheels. We did see 24th century entertainment in the form of the holodeck. O'Brian and Bashar especially enjoyed many different adventures - the alamo, kayaking, spy games - music and art were classical, even Riker's jazz is classical by that time, TNG in general seem ... bland. TOS era civilian fashions did showed some innovation, something the sixties were know for. For the most part we didn't see civilian Humans much at all, the most number of civilians in one place I can remember would have been the Crusher family funeral.
I never remember seeing an episode where they didn't have a holodeck scenario from Earth later than the 20th century. It's mostly stuff set in the 19th-20th centuries (like Sherlock Holmes).

Do 012 year old punks these days listen to music from the 018th century when they're stealing cars? No, so why would a kid from the 023rd century listen to music from the 020th century while doing so?

If they tried to show future civilian culture, it could very well look silly a mere 5 years later. Remember this is a franchise created by people in the 20th/early 21st century, and for audiences of that time.
Besides, what will future culture/media be like?
