Each Season's Worst; TNG

My picks:

1) Haven
2) The Outrageous Okona
3) The Ensigns of Command
4) The Loss
5) The Outcast
6) Rascals
7) Thine Own Self

Season 1 - "The Neutral Zone" - Way to RUIN the awesome Romulan plot with the needless 20th-cryo plot.

I very nearly came close to choosing that episode. If it wasn't for the threat of the Romulans, then I probably would have. Those 20th Century humans were absolutely cringeworthy.

I guess my first impressions tainted my view of Imaginary Friends. I was really little when I saw it so I liked it because it had kids in it :)

Same reason why I like Rascals, though I think that's a better received episode.

S1 - Home Soil
S2 - Shades of Grey
S3 - Ensigns of Command
S4 - The Loss
S5 - Imaginary Friend
S6 - Aquiel
S7 - Masks

1. Angel One
2. Man Hunt
3. The Bonding
4. The Host
5. Imaginary Friend
6. Rascals - Worst of TNG
7. Sub Rosa

Man, there some real stinkers in every season, and after going thru the lists, here are the top worst ones for me, that I can barely even watch:

S1: Too short a season
S2: The child and The dauphin tying for worst. I rather watch Shades of Gray than watch these retarded episodes.
S3: The Price and Menage a Troi tying for worst
S4: Half a life
S5: The outcast
S6: Man of the people
S7: Eye of the beholder

I don't think I've seen any of these more than once.

It's funny that the lists have included not only stinkers, but some of my favorite episodes, as well. To each his/her own, I s'pose.

My list:

1. Code of Honor---anachronistic, clunky, lame...just awful
2. Shades of Gray---there was a writers' strike, and they ran out of scripts, so we get a clip show---every sitcom fan dreads 'em, and we get one in Trek---yuck!
3. Can't choose one---damn near perfect season of Trek
4. Ditto
5. Ditto
6. Man of the People---this was bad! no redeeming elements at all!
7. (tie) Sub Rosa---what the hell is this doing on a Trek show?
All Good Things---the anomaly was the lamest Braga nonsense ever, and that's saying something!

S1: Skin of Evil
S2: Shades of Gray
S3: Menage a Troi
S4: Q Pid
S5: Imaginary Friend tied with The Game
S6: Ship in a Bottle
S7: Sub Rosa (my least favorite Star Trek episode of all time)

S1 - Home Soil
S2 - Shades of Grey
S3 - Ensigns of Command
S4 - The Loss
S5 - Imaginary Friend
S6 - Aquiel
S7 - Masks

I gave myself standing orders to smack anybody that mentions MASKS in their WORST list but since I've been gone for a week I've calmed down...

RAMA

I agree, while not a stellar episode, there's FAR worse in S7. I had to get used to Data's acting, but the premise is interesting.

I've noticed that this is a constant theme among male body-builders - wanting to "smack" people who disagree with them.

While I have the utmost respect for anyone who has put in the determination, discipline and self-sacrifice needed to build their body to the point you have achieved (assuming that is a photo of you in your avatar), that kind of mindset really pisses me off.

Masks wasn't my choice for worst of the 7th season of TNG only because Sub Rosa and Emergence was in the same season. Still, I thought Masks SUCKED. If you really want to "smack" me over it, PM me and I'll give you directions to my house.

I hope I don't get warned over this post but if I do, oh well. I hope the moderators will imagine how others would react if I had an avatar of me holding an automatic weapon and made a comment of having standing orders to "shoot" someone who didn't like Justice.

^ I apologize for that post. I was really shit-faced when I made it. Got to stop posting while intoxicated.

Season 1, 2 and 7 are particularly difficult for me becuase there were so many bad ones.

1. Code of Honor (3/10)
2. The Dauphin (2/10)
3. The Vengeance Factor (4.5/10)
4. Half a Life (3.5/10)
5. Cost of Living (4/10)
6. Rascals (2/10)
7. Emergence (1/10)

WORST:

Season 1: Justice - They could have killed off Wesley, but didn't. :scream:
Season 2: Shades of Grey - Do I really need to explain why?
Season 3: Who Watches the Watchers - Talk about heavy-handed.
Season 4: Devil's Due - Again, talk about heavy-handed.
Season 5: The Masterpiece Society - Just plain boring.
Season 6: Man of the People - Episodes simply shouldn't focus on Troi, period.
Season 7: Force of Nature - This episode makes no sense.

OVER-RATED:

Season 1: Encounter at Farpoint
Season 2: The Royale
Season 3: Yesterday's Enterprise
Season 4: The Best of Both Worlds, Part II
Season 5: The Inner Light
Season 6: Relics
Season 7: Lower Decks

1. Angel One. (all the men are pussies)
2. Shades of Gray (A poor Clip show )
3. The Price ( I'd rather watch paint dry)
4. Qpid. (Only Worf's line makes it woth watching, )
5. The Outcast  :cardie:
6. Aquiel ( I'd rather watch the second coat of paint dry)
7. Sub Rosa.

The Royale? Everyone who ever mentions it seems to hate it. I actually kind of like it though, odd little offbeat episode, like quite a few of season 2's.

Any more I only ever hear people saying how under-rated it is, oh well.

Tee hee, maybe the consensus has changed then. I think it is just goofy and entertaining. I like the idea of the place, reminded of this old cheesy 70s movie where a woman died in a car wreck but she didn't know it, and was trapped in some sort of casino-hell.

The only thing I liked about The Royale was when Data read a paperback novel in two seconds and then started to summarize it for Picard. That was cool. Other than that, the episode did nothing for me.
