Each Season's Worst; TNG

So now we move on to TNG. Your task? Pick the worst episode from each season. Yeah, I know, some of you think that TNG never really had a bad episode. But, as Sybok would say, "I know you better than that."

Rob

1. Haven-Harder to pick than some might think. Nothing stands out as being horrible.
2. Shades of Gray-The worst of a bunch of mediocre ones
3. Menage a Troi-Possibly the only bad episode from that season
4. The Loss-the ONLY bad episode from that season!
5. Imaginary Friend-Just didn't think it was scary.
6. A Fistul of Datas-I never watch it
7. Emergence-Pointless

1. The Naked Now
2. Shades of Gray
3. Menage a Troi (agreed, only really bad episode from season three)
4. Night Terrors (gives me nightmares thinking about it)
5. Imaginary Friend
6. Man of the People
7. Bloodlines

1. Naked Now.
2. Shades of Grey.
3. Transfigurations.
4. Qpid.
5. Imaginary Friend.
6. Realm of Fear.
7. Sub Rosa.

I just read up on Transfigurations...you may have something there. I totally forgot about that clunker!!!

Rob

I'd have to say Man of the People and Sub Rosa would be 2nd and 3rd on my list for season 7, but Emergence just makes me angry at how useless it is..it should have been noticed when they broke the story with the writers.

Transfig is actually a better story of evolution than Emergence! Its not bad, just not Earth shattering in my opinion. At least it had a modicum of ST's moral agenda in it.

RAMA

1. Code of Honor
2. Shades of Gray
3. The Vengeance Factor
4. Identity Crisis
5. Imaginary Friend
6. Realm of Fear
7. Force of Nature

^^ yeah..on second thought, you're right. I think Shades of Gray is the worst Star Trek episode...ever. And I mean, out of the 600+ episodes "ever".

Rob

Season 1: "Haven" - just plain dumb
Season 2: "Up the long ladder" - variation of "Code of honour"
Season 3: "Transfigurations" - really pointless plot, badly executedS
Season 4: "QPid" - aptly rhymes with "stupid"
Season 5: "The Game" - Wesley saves the day...right
Season 6: "Rascals" - cringing stuff, really
Season 7: "Masks" - I doubt even the writers knew what they were trying to do.

Season 1 - Angel One
Season 2 - The Dauphin
Season 3 - The Price
Season 4 - Suddenly Human
Season 5 - New Ground
Season 6 - Aquiel
Season 7 - Force of Nature

Some overrated shows from each season (Since I think I did this for DS9 too)

Season 1 - The Neutral Zone
Season 2 - Where Silence has Lease
Season 3 - The Best of Both Worlds (Great episode, yes, but it has gotten really overrated in the last ten years)
Season 4 - Clues
Season 5 - Cause and Effect (I like it, but I've seen it too much, and it's like seeing the same episode for 3 of the acts.)
Season 6 - Starship Mine
Season 7 - Phantasms

1- The Last Outpost (so bad it's great)
2- Man Hunt
3- The Bonding
4- QPid
5- Imaginary friend.
6- TrueQ
7- Bloodlines

1 Code Of Honor
2 Shades Of Gray
3 Ménage à Troi
4 Suddenly Human
5 Imaginary Friend
6 Aquiel
7 Sub Rosa

1- Code of Honor (Corny and unintentionally racist.)
2- The Royale (Boring.)
3- Transfigurations (Utterly boring.)
4- The Loss (Boring.)
5- Cost of Living (Embarrassing and boring.)
6- Aquiel (Unfathomably boring.)
7- Sub Rosa (Pure MST3K fodder.)

1- Code of Honor (Corny and unintentionally racist.)

Riiiiiight....

Anywho, the only ones that I have the tendency to mention that are worst episodes are: Inner Light, Darmok (I was actually going to type 'Blalock')...which, I think, are in the same season....

I'm too lazy to check...:p

^^ I am with you, sort of. I think DARMOK is the most over rated Star trek episode of all time. Its good, but it isn't that good.

Rob

1- The Last Outpost (Lots of candidates, but that goofy crap the Ferengis pull in the fifth act puts this one over the top. Did anyone think that wasn't embarrassing?)
2- Pen Pals (Totally inconsistent characterization of Data, awful PD preachiness)
3- The Hunted (It's getting tougher, but this one wins out)
4- Suddenly Human (Just don't like it)
5- Imaginary Friend (It's getting easier)
6- Suspicions (Just didn't make sense that a doctor is playing "scientific diplomat)
7- Dark Page (Shooting fish in a barrel now; comic Lwaxana=WIN, dramatic Lwaxan=lose)

That was surprisingly fun. Didn't look at other posts so I wouldn't be influenced, and am curious to see what others think.

Season 1 - "The Neutral Zone" - Way to RUIN the awesome Romulan plot with the needless 20th-cryo plot.
Season 2 - "The Icarus Factor" - BORRRRRRING.
Season 3 - "The Bonding" - Meh all the way around.
Season 4 - "Family" - Is this Star Trek or some cliched family drama show?
Season 5 - "The Inner Light" - See "Family"
Season 6 - "Tapestry" - It's really here where Q episodes started to sink. "True Q" isn't that good, IMO, either.
Season 7 - "Thine Own Self." - Boring! And, come on...
