E3

The MS press conference started out with so much promise...but now...... *ugh* It feels like I'm watching a bunch of Wii shovelware.

They are showing a bunch of grown men from the press...

Seasme Street  FFS I might just kill myself.

Kinect Labs - Microsoft you forgot who your audience is

When is Kinect Music going to be shown?

Edit: Can Kinect actually read this guy's hair? Because that would be an astonishing technical accomplishment.

Edit 2: Master Chief is entering a mass relay. Didn't see that one coming.

Kinect about 15-20% install base but gets 90% of the press show . Halo HD, Tomb Raider and Halo 4 only things I cared about there. I have to admit Tomb Raider looked very good. All that Kinect Sport stuff was awfully scripted especially golf shit.

E3 in 90 mins then Ubisoft after followed by Sony.

GT E3 show is good just shown ELDER V and next Batman

GT's entire listings for E3 is mint, they are showing so much great stuff on their website E3 show.

GT E3 Listings.

Seeing Mass Effect 3 was good, even if the Kinect integration doesn't affect me. Halo 4 interests me a little. The NNXE (the New New Xbox Experience) will be interesting. Minecraft on the 360 would have been interesting were it not for the fact that, due to a poorly-worded terms of sale, I get free updates for life on the PC version. :p

The rest of that press conference was a but dull. I can easily foresee MS losing this year again, unless Sony reveals that the PS Vita costs $599. But who'd be stupid enough to release a console at that price? :shifty:

Just saw Elder V and Batman on GT TV and dam they looked good. Showing off COD now

Liked the Mass Effect 3 stuff, don't really care about much else at the moment. I'm watching E3's Youtube stream: http://www.youtube.com/user/E3

I love some of the descriptions on that page:
Tuesday, June 7th
Super Secret Sony Game | 4:00pm
Super Secret Game #1 | 5:20pm
Super Secret Remake | 5:40pm
Super Secret Game #2 | 6:00pm

Wednesday, June 8th
Super Secret Sequel #1 | 4:00pm
Super Secret Sequel #2 | 4:20pm
Super Secret Sequel #3 | 4:40pm
Super Secret Sequel #4 | 5:40pm

They're not just secret, they're Super Secret! ;)

I'm really disappointed that Ryse is a Kinect game. I was really impressed with the intro and setting than crushed almost just as fast. Using Kinect assures that I will never play it.

Uncharted 3 is  and yesssssss Chloe returns in the game ;)

Sony's thing about the new TV that does splitscreen without the split was very cool though Move sucks more than Kinect.

Holy Shit!

Did anyone else just see that Star Trek trailer at the Sony Presser?! Wow. I've wanted a AAA Trek title for the longest time. This looks like it could be it.

Eh, it appears to be a standard shooter. The definitive Star Trek game would a Mass Effect clone with some Bridge Commander thrown in for ship combat. Plus, it's in the JJverse, which just doesn't interest me.

Sony's conference has been a bit better than Microsoft's, but it's still underwhelming for me. Pretty much none of these games interest me, and they focused on the Move a lot in the middle.

I said it looks good, not the best ever :P

It's just nice seeing a Trek game with some polish too it. The most recent ones have been nothing but cheap ass shovel-ware (I'd even include STO in that).

Is it just me or is this the most lame-duck E3 in years?

Maybe I'm just not into what passes for popular games these days, but this stuff just doesn't interest me at all.

Well the TOR trailer was nifty.

It is nice that the franchise is considered hot enough right now that one of the big three was willing to give it time at their E3 press conference, I'm not sure if that has ever happened before. But what annoys me is that so many developers over the years have gotten their hands on the rights to the franchise and don't seem to get what the franchise is all about, so they make a somewhat generic action game. Some of the games have been good, but they fail to focus on what I, as a fan, want them to. I want a game puts me in that universe, that gives me a ship, that allows me to walk around that ship, that allows me to travel to famous locations in the galaxy at my choosing, to walk around on Earth or Vulcan or Qo'noS or DS9. Yes, I want action, but I also want to interact with the world, to have conversations, to make tough decisions... and I don't want it to be an MMO. Basically, I want Mass Effect in the Star Trek universe. :p And I don't understand why every developer that gets their hands on the franchise doesn't want what I want.

Anyway, Sony's press conference didn't sway me much as I wasn't really interested in any of the games shown. The PS Vita is impressive and it's priced very reasonably, but it doesn't have any games that I want and I'm not sure if there's room in my life for a portable any more. I had a PSP, there were some good games for it and I don't regret getting it, but now I have a laptop and a smartphone and I don't see a need for the PSV.

Even though a large portion of Microsoft's conference was lame, they had at least three games that piqued my interest. If Nintendo doesn't manage to blow these two away tomorrow, I'll be shocked.

so far it's been pretty "meh"

i suspect nintendo will get people excited because of new hardware and the promise that comes with that.

i was impressed with the kinnect disneyland game, the sesame street game and the new tomb raider game...

i think one problem is the pre-e3 footage that hits the week before (so as not to get lost during e3). Batman with Catwoman, Saints Row 3... good looking stuff, but now it almost feels like old news.

it's a tricky act, how soon do you announce your game before releasing it? and is it really worth trying to announce something at e3, if you arent a first party (especially the year new hardware comes out and you're not supporting it)? the third party press conferences were pretty bad so far.

one thing i did notice from the press conferences... it seemed like there was a lot less smoke and mirrors for the demos. probably because the games that had a bigger showing were due out this year. so you dont want the devs to waste too much time on throwaway work. i remember e3 always being a resource drain that never felt like it was worth it.

I'm thrilled about the $249 price for the new PSP, but other than that nothing has caught my eye. I'm expecting an epic showcase from Nintendo tomorrow.

Really, the only thing that took me by surprise this year was Tomb Raider. It wasn't even on my radar but now I'll be paying very close attention.

If the PSV gets hacked then I'll probably pick one up eventually. It's probably the handheld I've used the most given the various mods and homebrew on it.
