The games industry as a whole is (intrinsically) super dynamic, The Entertainment Software Association (et al), and consequently E3 and events like it, are not.
E3 and similar trade shows as a concept are pretty much dinosaurs, huge and slow and less and less relevant (although they are still fun if you're not limited by platform).
As a PC player, you should give a well-meaning nod in the general direction of the new PC press conference, before going back to playing the shit ton of games available to you. PC gaming has never been better.
