Sony must have misread the chapter in the marketing handbook about paying less and getting more as "pay more, get less".
I can't wait to watch the Nintendo conference when I get home. It sounds like it should contain some good unintentional laughs judging from the various commentary threads I've been keeping tabs on from various websites.

I think the Sony presentation has been much more exciting than the Nintendo presentation from earlier this morning. I loved the shocked gasps of the crowd when he announced that they were presenting footage from FFXIV... no one expected that.

Well, Sony's conference was definitely more insteresting than Nintendo's. There's only a couple of games there that I'm really interested in getting, though. Uncharted 2 and Assassin's Creed 2. Maybe God of War 3, but I still haven't played through the first two. Would be nice to have more information about GT5.
MAG looked like it would have way too much going on for me to enjoy with that many players, but then, I don't care much for multiplayer shooters anymore. Someone came to the door at the start of the FF14 announcement, so I missed whatever was shown there. From reading the comments Gamespot, it's the sequel MMO? I'll have to check it out later when the video for the conference in posted.
Eh, not too excited about the PS Dildo. Seemed a bit funny alongside the remarks about Playstation equaling innovation.

That was my thought too. I love the COD franchise since MW was introduced and love the online portion. But it's probably because of the simplicity. You pick a weapon set, and go. That MAG looked way too complicated.
You might as well get the Ipod touch, at least it looks sexy.
Duh... so all the lame shit can be moved to other consoles from the Wii. There is a great joke where the Wii is black and says "Sony PS4, We just steal all the other ideas".
Apple designs are stolen to use on every other MP3 player, and Nintendo's ideas are stolen to be used everywhere else. Maybe this will finally be the much needed kick i nthe ass Nintendo needs.
I wasn't too impressed with MAG either. 256 players is impressive from a networking standpoint (if the thing actually does manage to avoid crippling lag
), but from a gameplay standpoint, bigger isnt' always better. Unless each match is run by an incredibly competent commander, I can imagine the game would be total chaos, with nobody knowing what's actually going on.
And, let's be honest. On a public match, are you more likely to find a competent commander, or a 13 year old who'll just call everybody "fags" the whole time?
MAG just looks like a Battlefield game with more players and thus more lag and more unorganized, confusing chaos.
