Uh: advice to anyone thinking "oh, cool, I'll read Double Helix now" - don't do that.

Haha I read Double Helix years ago, some of them. Yeah I think I can skip this months sales as I read most of them years ago anyways.

Yeah, I searched the forum for thoughts on the series, and came across one of yours saying it was not worth it. Totally passed on them.

Initially I just skipped them. But then I thought I remembered that one of them was part of Peter David's New Frontier series. And I double checked and was happy to know that my memory does work okay sometimes... :)

Reading the New Frontier entry on its own is not only totally fine, it actually makes more sense than reading the prior four mutually incompatible entries first.

Good to know, thank you! I got that one to read as part of the New Frontier series; I'm not too preoccupied about the Double Helix series (although I did snag two others for curiosity's sake).

Prime Directive is a classic of the Trek line. If you're new to it, this is a great time to check it out.

Wow, thats a LOT on sale this month! I was missing 11 out of the 12. Especially interested in the Excelsior books. I'm hoping DS9 and Enterprise gets some love soon, we have gotten a ton of TOS and quite a lot of TNG lately.

Now I feel dumb. I just bought all the Double Helix books and just realized I already bought and read the Omnibus version a few years back. 6 bucks well spent, lol.

Damn, I bought the Double Helix omnibus, the last time it was on sale. Is it really that bad? Asking? Let me know.

My recollection of The Double Helix is that it was generally solid storytelling (with the exception of Red Sector, which is hot garbage). It's better than average, especially if you like team-ups or futuristic medicine. For New Frontier fans, that entry is a no-brainer to pick up and features plenty of Calhoun being himself.

I just got Prime Directive. Are First Frontier or The Fearful Summons any good?

Unless I see a lot of drastically different opinions I'll probably skip them then, I've got a ton of other stuff to read.
