Dyeing your dog to look like another animal?

I don't quite understand why would some would say the dogs "are sad." They don't have vanity or anything like that so they don't care what they look like nor do they have any understanding of what it is they've been emulated to look like. If they're "sad" then it'd probably have more to do with how they are being treated and cared for by their owners, not because of their looks.

Tiger-Dog looks pissed off enough to bite someone. It must be humiliating for a dog to be dressed up like a cat. I can't imagine how my cat would feel if I tried to transform her into a bassett hound.

Nah, their hair will cycle naturally - fall out and be replaced. Nobody is changing their DNA (I hope).
That's a lot of hair to fall out though. Maybe I'm just not understand the whole hair cycle thing but how long will that entire cycle happen.
They don't look sad to me.
The tiger looks like he's busy chewing on something. The cheetah and panda look pretty normal (other than coloration) to me. The Buffalo and Camel look like they're in in a standard show pose, and the Steelers dog actually looks kinda happy to me.
Again, I think the whole idea is really dumb and I would never do anything similar to my dog, but to call it abuse is a bit of an exaggeration.

But the animal doesn’t know that.
It isn’t a tattoo. It’s no more permanent than a bottle blonde. Hair grows out and sheds, you know.
I think it’s a silly thing to do to a pet, not to mention expensive. But I fail to see how it constitutes abuse. An animal can suffer pain, neglect, sickness, starvation, or lack of social contact. But does anyone seriously think these dogs feel humiliated? That’s over-anthropomorphizing a bit much.

This is an incredibly stupid thing to do to an animal, and I don't think it should be allowed. You wouldn't dye someone else's hair like a zebra without their explicit consent, would you?
Well I'm not sure poodles give their consent to their frou frou haircuts.

My sister dress her little dog, Riley, up in doggy pyjamas. Everything was OK until everyone started to laugh at him. He hates it when people laugh at him and he refused to get into the pajamas again.

I think having a smell all over them from the dye (which they would detect even if you couldn't) would bother them.

I agree completely. I'd never do this myself, but I seriously doubt that the animals care, and if no physical harm is done, who cares?
The people are "Sick?" They're abusing their animals? Real animal abuse is nothing to trivialize. These are the types of pets that are probably spoiled rotten by their owners and treated very well in most every respect, not abused.
Now we're looking for animal consent? "It is not logical", indeed.
Imagine if I had to get consent every time I needed to groom my dog or cat or brush their teeth or clip their nails. They'd rather rip my head off, most of the time.
