DW Pinball Machine

I was going through some of my old video tapes and found a shot of the Doctor Who pinball machine that I ran across a few years ago. Here are some stills I exported from the footage that I thought I'd share:

I found this in Carlsbad, New Mexico of all places. I googled it and found a wiki page and this promo video from the company that manufactured the game:

Apparently pinball machines have storylines (I had no idea) and this one involved a Master/Davros team-up which leads to the first seven Doctors joining forces to fight them...or something.

Anybody remember this?

There was an arcade in Lynchburg, Virginia that had that pinball machine in the early 90s. I spent a lot of quarters on it. When you got a new ball, you "retrogenerated" -- you started out as the seventh Doctor with the first ball, and you could choose which Doctor you retrogenerated into. Then the Doctor on the front (picture #2) would light up, depending upon which you'd chosen.

Good times, good times indeed. :)

I have actually come across this machine on a couple of occasions in recent years; it's still in circulation in some arcades, though mostly of the "bus depot" variety, I find.

The promo video was quite interesting -- it seems to have been written by a fan. I thought the machine came out in the 1980s, but it's "only" from 1992!

They had one of these at the student arcade / bowling alley at Weber State University back when I was going there in the late 90's.

Haven't seen it for five years or more.
There was a Doctor Who game on the viilage pub trivia machine until a few months back (Beat the Daleks, Cybes, Sontarans, etc). Disappeared in the last update, probably because kids were disappointed that it didn't involve Rose, Martha or anything from the 2005-plus series, and old school fans wanted there to be some Doctor Who questions in it!
There are more Who questions in the Charley Boorman: By All Means Necessary game on the same machine. Seriously. One question asks you who was a first Doctor companion, and the right answer is Sara Kingdom!
