DW 2011 wall calendar

Worf2DS9

I received the official Doctor Who wall calendar for 2011 the other day and I must say I can't wait to put it up. It's very cool! This is the first time I've been able to find it (got it from calendars.com).

As this calendar was made primarily for folks in the UK, there are a couple of things about it that I'll have to get used to. First, in each month the days of the week start with Monday on the left side, with Saturday & Sunday on the right side. (Is this a British thing?). Also, it's strange not seeing North American holidays, like Memorial Day for the U.S. and Victoria Day for Canada, or Labour Day. No 4th of July, or Canada Day, etc.

But otherwise, a really nice design, with full monthly spreads featuring each of the episodes of series 5, with great photos and quotations.

I believe that is indeed a UK display of the days of the week. Interesting. I might have to order myself one.

How does it work in the US? Doesn't your week start on Monday, too? It's not solely a British thing, though, German calendars work the same way.
I got one as a present last year, quite unexpectedly, because I've never seen one on display here, and I enjoyed it a lot. Then again, Ten is my favourite Doctor.

Our week starts on Sunday. Yes, it's odd.

So, your weekend is just Friday and Saturday, then? ;) I know that for the church the week starts on Sunday, but it doesn't make much sense to me to have the secular week start Sunday.

The standard display is indeed Sunday through Saturday, and it's far and away the most common. However, business week calendars will display Monday first and Sat/Sun off to the right. For example that's one of the display settings for your calendar in Lotus Notes.
