DVD Query

Not much to cleanup, seeing as DS9 was edited to composite videotape, so the DVD’s and video files are all from the same sources. But the DVD’s are better as they present the show in its native 480i (you’ll get your highest quality version on DVD), whereas the video files on iTunes and Amazon and other digital sites have been poorly deinterlaced to give a faux 480p image.

Yeah, the original (and re-issued) US DVDs are still unfortunately the best quality copies of DS9 you can get. I'd kill for new transfers, even if they were still from the tape masters. The DVDs have a lot of compression problems.

Maybe they could do DS9 on D-VHS! The could get 4 hours of DS9 on a DF-240 (equivalent to a S-VHS ST-120) in STD mode at a CBR of 14 Mbps, or use a DF-480 at 28Mbps. :)

Hey JVC, relaunch D-VHS, we need it for Star Trek Deep Space Nine And Star Trek Voyager!
