DVD/Blu-Ray Coming November 17th

What hype is there to build?

It's working perfectly. People aren't content to let it sit on shelves to perhaps pick up cheaply in the after-Christmas sales. They want it yesterday. Rabid fanboys are a tiny sector of the more relaxed demographic this film is aimed at.

IS IT TUESDAY YET????????? I CANT WAIT!!!!!!!!

See?

I think Yeoman Randi is rather subdued compared to some of us!

Therin, wait til after xmas for a cheaper price than 21.99? *snort* Im pretty certain it won't come down cheaper than that....not here on Long Island, anyway.

Besides, why wait for something that gives me this much pleasure? I want it and i want it NOW! :)

Is anyone else amused by the constant banner ads promoting the new Star Trek DVD/Blu-ray on the site today? Isn't that kind of preaching to the choir?

I posted this in another thread, too; but I was just checking, and the 3-disc blu-ray edition is #1 at Amazon currently, with the single-disk DVD at #2. That's in all of "Movies and TV."

Since I don't have a Blu-Ray (yet):( What are my best options when buying a DVD? Widescreen is a given but are there 'different' DVD's available that include more extras or are they all the same?

For DVD, you'll want the Two Disc set. It doesn't have everything the Blu-Ray has, but it's got a lot of nice features, like a behind the scenes featurette, a gag reel, commentaries and the like.

i purchased the three-disc Blu-ray edition. the steelcase Blu-ray edition is a nice touch but i passed on that option. in early December i'll have a chance to watch the film; should be a great experience judging by the several reviews online.

I'm pretty sure they do have deleted scenes.
Someone on here has the complete feature list, I can't remember where it is, though.

DVD movie guide did a review
Star Trek [Blu-Ray] (2009)

special feature Gene Roddenberry’s Vision
It features Nimoy, Abrams, Orci, Kurtzman, Lindelof, Trek graphic designers/historians Denise and Michael Okuda, science consultant Carolyn Porco, Trek producer Rick Berman, filmmaker Nicholas Meyer, and Enterprise executive producer Manny Coto. The participants discuss the era in which Roddenberry came up with “The Original Series” and looks at his goals/work for the series. While I obviously respect Roddenberry’s legacy, “Vision” gives us a pretty generic take. We don’t really learn much about Roddenberry and generally get bland thoughts here.

Too bad.
