Dude! I've been there!

TRW campus

Some of you may know that I'm a space historian. The old TRW archives, where I did a lot of my research, are in the basement of that big building (the footbridge obscuring the TRW logo, now it says "Northrop Grumman") and if you continue down those stairs, you get to the cafeteria where I've eaten several times.

How cool!

How different does it look today?

Was anything else filmed there?

I often wonder where they find the "futuristic" cities to film things at, like this, Planet of the Apes (the last flick in the series), original and new BSG.. and I'm sure many others.

Dude, thats sweet.

Is there like a plaque or something there?

Also, stupid question, how big is that young tree on the right now after 40 or so years?

Now, you just need to have someone film you running down those stairs in a colorful jumpsuit.

Oh, I've no clue. I remember tall trees, but I couldn't tell you which one.

And nope, no plaque. Just a cafeteria. It's a good cafeteria though--great pizza. ^_^

I've always found buildings like these fairly charming, at least partially because of the embellishments on the façade.

*nods* Very 60's.

I've never been in that building, though I was turned away by security from there when I got lost. ^_^

There's a building at Prince George's Community College in Largo, Maryland that is an almost-identical design (except for the embellishments). The height of architectural design from that era, IMO!

From looking through Northrop-Grumman's web site, it appears that the Trek props people simply placed that little red corkscrew thing, etc., on the corner of a roof and shot past them down to that central square.
