DSC reference to VOY's "Prophecy"?

In the IMDB entry for the Voyager episode "Prophecy," it says that an early episode of DSC instituted a retcon regarding the Klingons featured in that episode. Supposedly DSC framed it so that their ancestors fled Klingon space because of the death of their martyred hero - T'Kuvma.

DSC never actually did this, did they? I sure don't recall a reference like that. I'm guessing it's just another instance of IMDB getting it wrong (because anybody can submit trivia for IMDB to include).

Yeah, that's the trouble with IMDB trivia. Anyone can submit anything, and they don't seem to do a lot of fact-checking. So somebody probably just pulled this out of their ass.

Besides, the Klingons from "Prophecy" were actually a fairly decent sort, all things considered. Did not strike me as the colossal douchebags that T'Kuvma and his ilk tended to be.

Also, you'll notice that the "Prophecy" crew travelled aboard a D7-class ship, which was not in use when T'Kuvma was alive (the D7 only debuted in the battle against Control, as per "Such Sweet Sorrow").

Good catch, in fact Chancellor L'Rell introduced plans for the D7 earlier in the second season.

Could the Voyager connection detail have come from one of the novels? I haven't kept up with the books, but it seems like a detail a writer would throw in there. I always appreciated the authors adding bits that link up continuity.

I think the connection is someone having fun with the phonetic similarly between T'Kuvma and Kuvah'magh.
