If DS9 Season 6 and 7 were made today and it consisted of 10 episodes each which episodes would you guys keep and which ones would you let go?

I couldn't do it. Season seven ends on a nine-ep run, so you've basically lost the rest of that season already.

I could drop some from those two seasons, but no way I'd give up 32 episodes.

I agree. DS9 is heavily serialized in seasons 6-7. And if you kept all the essential parts to follow the plot of the serial, you'd have to give up some really awesome standalone episodes.

I think a number of them could be kept by fusing several of the episodes into single 90 episode. It's streaming; no one has to be confined to 45 minutes to tell a story for an episode.

Season 6

  • “A Time To Stand” & “Rocks and Shoals” as a 90 minute episode season premiere.
  • “Sons and Daughter” & “Behind the Lines” as a single 90 minute episode.
  • “Favor The Bold” & “Sacrifice of Angels” as a single 90 minute episode.
  • “You Are Cordially Invited”
  • “Change of Heart”
  • “Inquisition”
  • “In The Pale Moonlight”
  • “Valiant”
  • “Tears of the Prophets”

I’m just not sure if the tenth episode of the sixth season should be: “Statistical Probabilities”, “Far Beyond the Stars” , “Wrongs Darker Than Death or Night”, “The Reckoning” or “The Sound of Her Voice”. They are all good candidates. I just know that it should not be a mirror universe episode.

Season 7

  • “Image in the Sand” and “Shadows and Symbols” as a 90 minute episode season premiere.
  • “Afterimage”
  • “The Siege of AR-558”
  • “It’s Only a Paper Moon”
  • “Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges”
  • “Penumbra & Til Death Do Us Part”
  • “Strange Bedfellows & The Changing Face of Evil”
  • “When It Rains…” & “Tacking Into the Wind”
  • “Extreme Measures & The Dogs of War”
  • “What You Leave Behind”
