Well, the original poster was not trying to be snippy, I don't think - I have to suppose that it was an honest question by someone unfamiliar with this tiresome war and who didn't know any better than to start down a road that has long been considered unwise around here.
It was the subsequent posters who got nasty about it.
Which I think proves my point pretty well. This discussion NEVER ends well. And those involved who have 'been there/done that' should have spent less time making nasty remarks and more time hitting the notify mod button, knowing that I would been around in short order to stop it, as I always have in the past.
Really, guys...I can't be here 24/7/365...but hitting the notify mod button will get me here quickly (I was here within 5 minutes after getting the one that was finally sent by Neroon), even when I *am* a bit under the weather as today....or will get Jammer or an admin here in my place if I'm not available.
But making snarky remarks and taking nasty potshots is not gonna solve anything, you know?
And I am NOT 'warning people who hate B5'. I am warning people who make unnecessary nasty and mean-spirited remarks - regardless of WHAT show they like, or don't like.
I don't care if you don't like B5. But I think it is totally unnecessary to call it 'trash' - not once, but a FEW different times in a thread (see the board rules - it is the same as the example of saying that 'kirk sucks'). Nor do I think it is cool for OTHER posters to imply that DS9 fans are less intelligent by referring to them as the 'lowest common denominator'.
These would be considered trolling under any circumstances and were completely unnecessary.
Sorry to the OP - you might have meant well, but this is not a discussion that has EVER ended well on this board.

And many apologies for not paying closer attention when I came here from email. I've been in bed all day on pain medication and was so surprised to find a NM from *THIS* forum (I get many from Trek XI, but never from DS9) that, in my alarm, I assumed it was the other thread.
Sorry for any confusion that might have caused...even though my point still stands.
