DS9: Force and Motion by Jeffrey Lang blurb

Wow! That's amazing cover art by Dog Drexler. I've been looking forward to getting this book for awhile now.:adore:

There is a reason the station looks Starfleet-y. The little ship is based on a type seen very briefly in a DS9 episode. All will be revealed.

Thanks! Can't wait! :techman:

(And did I really write "what was described" instead of "that was described"? Ouch.)

Isn't that a reuse of the Jupiter Station model from VOY - "Life Line"?
Yes, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's a Starfleet station. After all, Regula was a civilian station but the model was a reuse of the Starfleet orbital complex in TMP and was also used as a few starbases on TNG and DS9.

There's also the Raven, operated as a civilian research vessel by the Hansens but using Starfleet design. I figure either Starfleet provides a lot of surplus equipment to civilians or else the tech designs we see are not exclusive to Starfleet to begin with. How different do, say, US Navy ships, buildings, computers, etc. look from civilian ones? A Navy office building probably doesn't look that different from a civilian office building, so why shouldn't a Federation civilian space station look like a Starfleet one?

^In Ascendance, towards the end when Nog is working on Vic's program, doesn't DRG3 have Nog mention that he and O'Brien had an adventure ''off screen''? It's in the part that takes place in 2386. It would seem that F&M happens DURING Ascendance, if i'm not mistaken...

Or after the 2385 portion of Ascendance.

The epilogue of Ascendance, where this adventure is referenced takes place a month or so after the main story, so presumably F&M is in that month or so.
