ds9 dominion wars

seCrawler

Lieutenant Junior Grade
is it the greatest star trek series battle ever? they could have done so much more with the borg, but it gets old when they refuse to send an invasion borg armada vs 1 cube at a time.

Are you talking about the Dominion War or Wolf 359?

(I'm a bad Trekkie, I had to look up "Wolf 359." Hey I remembered they were all odd numbers! :rommie:)

It'd be interesting to see some of those epic space battles get a high-budget J.J. Abrams treatment. (Though the lens flares might send me into an epileptic fit!)

I got so bored with those battles, I thought the best battle was between Kahn and Kirk. In Ds9 and the TNG movies it was just loads of crappy CGI, and nothing ever seemed at stake.

Personally, I consider the battle during "Journey to Babel" to be far superior to any of the later FX fests.

Maybe in the next movie, when there is supposed to be a big battle scene, we simply cut to a shot of JJ Abrams sitting in a chair, with a large pile of money burning on the floor next to him?

Wolf was a nice intro to the Borg, but they were never under siege by the Borg. Basically the Borg would seen 3-4 cubes to other worlds but never more than 1 cube to Earth. in DW it was winner take all. How in the world a cube shows up in a quadrant doesn't go after the other species? The hole quad should have been in an epic battle to stop borg assimilation, no different than DS9's DW.

Yeah, the Dominion War was my favorite part of the series.

The DS9 shifters are cool because they can change into inanamate object.

I loved DS9's space battles. They really figured out how to do huge-scale space battles with dozens (hundreds?) of ships, without it becoming so large you can't identify with the action, by having them all hinge on the human (ok humanoid) factor. Dukat or Damar does something midstream that changes everything.

Otherwise, you have to identify with the action through just the "hero" starship, the Enterprise or the Defiant, and then you're just a small fish in a big pond.

I love it when those Dominion battle cruisers shot out the quantum torpedoes.

And the Breen added to the excitement since they are such hard ass warriors and gave the Federation the run for its money. I wished they make the Klingons like the Breens on DS9 in the new ST movies. That would be a really cool scene and good action when Kirk and the crew goes up against the Klingons.

They already sort of acted like in the new cutscenes of trek, but i dont know.

I like my Klingons oldfashioned.

Paradon, while I appreciate what you did there, I think it went over people's heads. But thanks for making me chuckle, anyway.

well, i always thought sacrifice of angels was done the best. epic moment when the Klingons uncloak and enter the battle.

INcredible...evil was always lurking, thats why the dominion was awesome to watch in episodes...and they had the jem-hadar
