Welcome to DS9 avatar contest 98!

READ THE RULES:
This contest runs on a bi-weekly schedule (more or less). So a contest usually starts on Tuesday morning and the entry period ends on Wednesday evening. The voting then begins right after and ends on Monday evening. In case we don't have enough people participating, I might extend the entry period by a week or so. Lately the schedule has been far more flexible.

This week's Episode is Tribunal from season 2. The Theme is Humor on DS9, and the Random Theme is Girl Power!

AVATAR RULES

The Theme must be DS9 related, while the Random Theme can be from just anything. The avatars have to conform to board rules: Up to 140x140 px and up to 70kb.

Like I said, a long-time fantasy of mine. Of course, my little internal Makbar has got quite a lot of people lining up who need to see her fast.

I need to find something that does a better job of adding text to pictures... this isn't working well...

NG- you remind me of a really good friend... you two should go into business! I'll finance it...

^ Are you using gimp right now? Sometimes you get a working version of ImageReady when downloading a trial version of photoshop. It's a great program for adding texts to images. You'll need another program to convert the image from ImageReady format, though.

I like using XnView for my non-animated avatars. It can add text but not that well.

Btw, I like the episode avatar to the right.

I started off using paint, then switched to Gimp. It took me a minute to remember how to flip through the various fonts and look at them on the picture as I go through them- I thought I could with paint, but I'm not sure I can... and that sucks, going through them one at a time. Blah! LOL

I've never heard of ImageReady before...

I'm using Paint.NET, a program I downloaded off the Internet. It doesn't have as many bells and whistles as Photoshop or the Gimp, but it's good enough for my needs.

And Marie--you're clear of spelling errors. Personally, I like the avatar to the left.

And what reminds you of this friend of yours?

Poor O'Brien in that ep... can't believe what happened to his friend! Can you imagine a Cardassian prison?

You remind me of her in your knowledge about news and goings on from all around the world. Some kind of super planetary surveillance you two created?? (Which I would like to be a part of please!! ) Also like us, your disgust for abuse and like-crimes, which may seem weird, but if those were common sentiments, if people weren't apathetic or whatever is affecting them- the penalties would be waaay stiffer.

And I'm not 100% sure about you, but I know she kinda wishes she could take a bat to some of the sickos around... then again, we'd have to travel to do so... she says that I'd have to handle the plane tickets... and she'd get the map...
