Episode:

Dukat, what are you doing under the table?

Theme:

No-one said it had to be positive character development! Winn loses her faith due the manipulations of Dukat and the Pah-wraiths.

Random Theme:

Mr. Griffin gets an egg. Hee hee. (For those who do not know, its the leader of a certain political party I strongly disapprove of).

Oh yeah, that last one gets my vote.

As for the 121st variation on the magnificent DS9 avatar contest I present:

Episode:

I know its probably bad form to have two (or three) Dukat's in a row here but I think the sneer suits Mr Skrain to a tee.

Theme:

Damar had a lot of character development in the end but this has to count as one of his most significant moments. In killing Rusot he took the first step to becoming something greater.

"His Cardassia's gone and won't be coming back."

Random theme:

One of my proudest memories of 2009, protesting against the stupid notion of giving airtime to a fascist on the BBC.

Theme:

This was probably one of Winn's most intreresting storylines. Disturbing, but interesting!

Man, that look on Damar's face just says it all. So torn up about what he has to do, but strong enough to do it anyway. Letting himself really feel but serving--THAT'S how a Cardassian should do it, instead of shutting down his feelings.

 

[Tallis Rhul]

Episode:

"It was like that when I got here!"

Theme:

In a defining moment for her character, Ezri Dax accepts the memories of the murderous former host Joran instead of suppressing them.

Random:

Chris Pine is cast as Captain Kirk and does a cracking job.

Theme:

This was probably one of Winn's most intreresting storylines. Disturbing, but interesting!

True, that was an interesting storyline for Winn.

Not so much for Dukat, though...

OK, here are my entries so far...


Episode:

This whole scene of Dukat ordering his drink from the replicator in the midst of this chaos just cracks me up. The arrogance!

(Discarded caption: "CAN YOU SMELLLLLLLL WHAT THE DUKAT IS COOKING??????")


Theme:

Going back to her "adoptive father" Tekeny Ghemor, seeing him into the next life...having to face what her hate and her fear did to her, to him, and to her biological father, and this time take the steps to make it right--this was a HUGE moment for Colonel Kira, who even as of "The Darkness and the Light" had not grown THIS much.


Random Theme:

Probably the one real feel-good story that sticks out from what was overall a pretty bad year. I did not draw this cartoon--please see this larger version for credit.

Theme: After Vedek Yassim hung herself to urge Bajorans to resist, Kira realizes she's become someone she hated and despised during the occupation: a collaborator. Storylines like this is why I love DS9 so much!

I love that episode as well! It's very powerful!

 

[Eyes]

Episode:

Dukat's image on the screen, droning on in a way that only a computer can.

Theme:

Afterimage really gives a lot of character development, in my opinion, in this case, Ezri telling Bashir about how Jadzia felt about him, that he was number 2, he's always number 2, which is really a constant theme for Bashir, and this one highlights his failed love life in the series.
