Droid Control Ship in Lego

Dear god.

I hate people like this.

Mostly because it makes me realize just how much of a LEGO amateur I really am.

I still love building with LEGO bricks even as I continue to approach 30, but still, I feel like a 4-year old playing with DUPLO compared to this guy.

Thanks for the link.

That was awesome.

Oooo shiney!

I love legos, my only problem with them is that they're so expensive. They're just little mass-produced squares of plastic darn it!

Yeah, some of the really interesting models aren't remotely available to younger builders.

www.bricklink.com is kind of an ebay of lego pieces and sets. If you shop around a bit on that site you can usually find the pieces you are looking for relatively cheap.

Of course 5-10 cents a piece still adds up when you need several thousand pieces to model a particular design...

I know how you feel I have the same problem.

Years ago, when it was called Brickbay, I ordered $300+ in 2x2 and 2x4 blue and white bricks from anyone I could find them from. I had grand plans of making a monster iceberg/castle, but I never got around to it. My LEGO is in storage now, I keep thinking I might want to dig it out, but I never do.

That droid ship is impressive.

I lucked out and found several of the 70-odd piece Star Destroyer sets on sale, and scarfed them up. Overall, I ended up with twelve Star Destroyer sets...and made my own Super Star Destroyer.

I have purchased several other Lego Star Wars sets, mostly just for the various specialized pieces. But had been looking for somewhere I can just buy specific pieces. Found them at a Lego Store in a mall outside Chicago.

If any of you guys have built your own stuff, put more links up...I'd like to see what you've built.

This is loosely related to the topic. Somebody made a stop-motion movie of minifigs building the 5000+ piece Millennium Falcon set.

Somebody had way too much free time, but it makes a for a rather entertaining 12 minutes.

Drool over it gentlemen:

Oh, I drooled over it in the store...but the wife was with me and I couldn't quite justify the $300 price tag without having her match (or exceed) it at the mall.
