Drawing the Enterprise-D Saucer Shape

dansst

Hi, this may seem like a simple question, but my understanding of ellipse theory is 40 years out of date, and I wished to learn how to draw the Enterprise-D saucer. I assume that the saucer's outer circumference, and the internal circumferential bulkheads, are based on simple elliptical math? Or, is magic involved?
Thanks!
Dan

As I recall, it's a 55-degree ellipse. Now, I have an ellipse template with a 55° ellipse cutout, but I wouldn't have a clue how to draw one without the template. :D

Excellent info. Thank you!
