Drawing the Enterprise-D Saucer Shape

Hi, this may seem like a simple question, but my understanding of ellipse theory is 40 years out of date, and I wished to learn how to draw the Enterprise-D saucer. I assume that the saucer's outer circumference, and the internal circumferential bulkheads, are based on simple elliptical math? Or, is magic involved?

What is the eccentricity the ellipse? (Equivalently, what are major and minor axes of the ellipse?)

As I recall, it's a 55-degree ellipse. Now, I have an ellipse template with a 55° ellipse cutout, but I wouldn't have a clue how to draw one without the template.
