Drama queen writers

The takeover was ridiculously easy - it's hard to argue otherwise. There was no fight back.

People keep saying 'but Rascals' as if that makes it okay, but just because the Ferengi taking the Enterprise 30 years ago was depicted badly it doesn't mean taking a ship has to keep being depicted badly does it?
If the US Capitol can be overrun by a simple mob and security fails to stop them, Osyraa can take Disco with ease as well ;)

If I never have to hear about "Rascals" again, it'll be too soon.

"Basics" is what I prefer to compare the Emerald Chain's takeover of Discovery to.

"Call to Arms" is too cool for this. It's the second best Season Finale in all of Star Trek, after "The Best of Both Worlds".

Since when have Starfleet ships ever had adequate counter-measures against being taken over? They could be disabled with a five-digit code for goodness sake.

Per Ex Astris Scientia, aliens seized control of Voyager 11 times - not to mention all the times someone managed to disable bridge controls to use the transporters/shuttle etc.

At they end of the day, it all happened because (a) that's where they wanted to take story arc, and (b) that's how much time that they had in each episode, which also limits what they can show. Sure, there were conscious choices made in terms of what the showrunners and writers chose to include in order to achieve this but, ultimately, that's long and there short of it.

Thus has Trek always been...
