Dragon Age: Origins - Anyone playing?

This game was released yesterday on consoles and, I believe, PC. I ordered the CE from Amazon, so won't have it for a few more days.

Just wondering whether anyone picked it up already and what their initial impressions are. I'm a big fan of past Bioware RPGs (absolutely loved Mass Effect, KOTOR and Jade Empire) so I have very high hopes for Dragon Age.

I'll probably give it a try.

I liked Mass Effect and Jade Empire. KOTOR had its moments, but I haven't got that far into it yet:)

Haven't seen any reviews yet, but going off some of the videos, I say it looks closer to Kotor in control style than Mass Effect.

Could be totally wrong on that though;)

It's much more KOTOR/BG2-ish then ME/Jade. The PC version also has an isometric-ish view that the consoles lack.

It is Bioware, so my interest just jumped up 10 notches. I wasn't even aware it existed until a few days ago. My Bioware awareness was limited to Mass Effect 2.

Although I'm a fan of the Bioware RPG's I'm holding off getting this. Probably will wait for the inevitable super-duper edition. Just busy playing other stuff right now. Replaying The Witcher: Enhanced Edition right now, which I bought last year but only got halfway through, and then I'll likely pick up the GOTY edition of Fallout 3 since I never bothered going through the hassle of paying for and downloading the DLC's as they came out. and of course I still play Lord of the Rings Online every single day, though I'm starting to run out of things to do even with 7 alts. Hurry up Dec. 1st!

And Dragon Age looks extremely meh, visually speaking. Which is probably on account of of it being a "toolset" game like the NWN series, which also looked like ass. I miss the beautiful 2D landscapes of the Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale series.

I'm a big bioware fan so I started playing this yesterday. Let's just say today at work I've been rather...fatigued.

I'm loving the combat so far. A lot of pausing and unpausing and tense battles. I'm playing the pc version on normal difficulty.

Picked it up last night. I've only played for about 3.5 hours but so far I'm loving it. Combat and conversations remind me a lot of KOTOR. The graphics are underwhelming but the story so far is typical Bioware and therefore makes up for it.

I'll be getting my copy from Amazon tomorrow, so I'll be firing it up when I get home from work. Looking forward to it. :D I'd have liked to have gotten the PC version, but my computer wouldn't be able to run the game very well at the moment, so I had to settle for the Xbox version.

I've actually been looking forward more to Mass Effect 2 (still am), but BioWare is BioWare, and I'm sure DA won't disappoint.

I'm sort of glad that there is no morality system in the game... although it kind of makes the "mean" dialog options kind of pointless. There doesn't seem to be any reason to piss anyone off.

Ordered it from amazon (regular), looks like fun. I think it will be coming sometime next week.

Got my copy in today! :D Now I'm in the middle of downloading all the extra goodies I got, and then I'm off to slay the dragon. Er, arch-demon.
