Dr. Who New Series Premiere Episode Name

The funny thing this year was, BBCA ran a new Top Gear on Memorial Day, but not a new Richard Hammond's Crash Course.

Aide from that, BBCA always skips running anything new on a holiday weekend and are then a week off from BBC actual.

Checking it seems "The Eleventh Hour" aired on 3 April 2010 on BBC and April 17, 2010 on BBC America. In other words, two weeks later.

This continued, until Memorial Day Weekend, when there was no new episode on in the US on May 29/29 May in the US, but "Cold Blood" aired in the UK. Starting June 5/5 June, there was now a 3 week difference in the air dates between the episodes airing in the UK and then in the US.

On June 26/26 June Britain aired "The Big Bang" and the United States aired "Vincent and the Doctor." Then the US took another week off for the July 4th/4th July. The new episodes resumed on July 10/10 July and the US got "The Big Bang" on July 24/24 July.

BBC America claims "A Christmas Carol" aired on Christmas Eve, December 24/24 December, but I remember it airing on Christmas Day.

As for Season 6, the UK and the US got "The Impossible Astronaut" on April 23/23 April. The episodes aired the same day until "The Almost People" on May 28/28 May, when BBC America did not air the episode due to Memorial Day Weekend. he US got the episodes a week later than the UK for "The Almost People" and "A Good Man Goes to War."

The second half of the season started on August 27/27 August for both the UK and the US. The rest of the season aired the same day in the UK and the US, without a break for Labor Day in the US (apparently, Memorial Day warrants a break in new episodes, but Labor Day does not).

"The Doctor, the Widow, and the Wardrobe" both aired on Christmas Day 2011.

you know, when you write out the month and the date like that, you don't need to repeat it... it's only when people do that 9/11 instead of 11/9 shit people get confused...

I know, I figured if I posted in the American way, those "Across the pond" would get upset. If I posted the other way, the 'Mericans would get upset. So I decided to post both ways, so everyone was included! :bolian:

Bit overkill, though, I admit!

Well, for future reference, July 1st? That's fine. The month is clearly denoted and it roles off the tongue better than 1st of July.

But 7/1? That's just messing with the bounds of common sense. And 7/1/12 is even worse!

^Well that all depends on how dates are spoken in your country.

As for a date written like 25th August or August 25th I suspect it doesn't bother people on this side of the pond which way it is written.

Numerical dates can be totally confusing given that the US is one of the few countries to use the MM-DD-YY format.

Again, it was one of those things that seemed funny to me as I posted it. In hindsight, not so much. If it makes you guys feel better, it's not as if my humor improves when I'm not on the computer. My poor wife shakes her head more often than she laughs at my attempts at humor!

The trouble is, until we have an entire series that doesn't feature a Dalek, not even in the slightest sense, then the rumour will persist, whether there's any legitimacy to it or not.
Last series they did a couple of cameos, not featured story. IIRC.

Yes but we still saw a Dalek, well bits of one, in The Wedding of River Song. I'm not sure if I buy into the Dalek/Nation Estate conspiracy theory or not, but until we go an entire series without so much as an eystalk, a plunger or even the word Dalek being used, it will persist.

Of course, even if we did go an entire season without any Daleks period, someone wold just make a claim that the Nation Estate is no longer allowing the BBC to use the Daleks, and even if there's no proof this story will snowball and everyone will believe it, just like they do the current story.

Really, everyone's just going to believe whatever fits in their worldview.

Nation doesn't own the design of the bits.... So if there was currently a contractual requirement to use his creations under the terms of the rights owned by his estate, then season 6 would already have broken that agreement.

Ergo, there isn't one.
