Dr. Who New Series Premiere Episode Name

I recently rewatched Victory of the Daleks. Im hoping for better with Asylum.

The idea sounds interesting, but hoping they execute it better than VotD! Can't wait for the new season to start!

So, they're bringing back all of the previous Daleks. I hope there is an episode where they bring back all of the surviving, previous Doctors.

I have to admit I'm still really tired of the Daleks. I enjoyed not seeing them last season.

I agee, it would be nice to see the surviving Doctors, especially for the 50th anniversary. They are not getting any younger...

Here is a link to a story on the new Who episode:

The episode name is: “Asylum of the Daleks”.

Steven Moffat confirms that every Dalek ever seen will be in this episode including the special weapons Dalek.

This might be a good Dalek story, they have been hit or miss lately.
Asylum of the Daleks? Did they round up Dalek Khan and all his crazy buddies and lock them up in padded rooms? ;)

I can't read the article, due to it being blocked by filter, does the articles just say "Every Dalek ever shown", "Includes Weapons Dalek, confirmed by Moffat", and "will be called Asylum of the Daleks"? I've been waiting to hear more on this, I'm excited, I think this could be a really good Dalek episode again :bolian:

Well, if the rumors are true, there's a place where the Daleks have put every Dalek the Doctor ever defeated.

My guess is that the nuDaleks are trying to weed out the best existing models they can use for drones, so they are going to make the Doctor run some kind of gambit and these Daleks are competing to kill him. Just my guess.

the only other interesting bit is this:

Executive Producer Caro Skinner wasn’t giving much away but she did tell us, ‘This is an epic Dalek adventure that kicks off the new series in explosive style! If you think you know all there is to know about the Daleks, think again…’

Well if the rumours are true, as parts of the rights agreement with the Nation estate the Dalek's have to appear every season (and they appeared breifly last season).

Though it is an interesting episode to open with, you might have thought they might have left a Dalek episode to later in the season.

You couldn't very well do worse! Victory somehow managed to be even worse than both Daleks in Manhattan and Evolution of the Daleks put together, and it didn't even have Pig Men in it.

Hopefully since Mark Gatiss's name isn't on it, there may be a chance.

Which is just weird, because I genuinely loved his Doctor Who novels--Nightshade is just about as good as the New Adventures got, and Last of the Gadarene feels like the Target novel of a Pertwee story that was never made. Most of his Big Finish stuff has been great, too, and The Unquiet Dead was fantastic (though RTD supposedly rewrote that one quite a lot).

Now this is what really interests me: I'd love it if the episode gave us any glimpses of actual Dalek culture. We know from "Revelation of the Daleks" and the TV Movie that they have some sort of judicial system; we know there are, or were, religions of a sort (the Cult of Skaro and the admittedly insane Daleks who worshiped their Emperor as a God); and at least one Dalek somewhere in history was poetic enough to coin the phrase "The Oncoming Storm" for their greatest enemy. What else is there? If, as some here have speculated, the title refers to an Asylum of Daleks (where sick Daleks are treated), that hold all sorts of interesting implications...

It's not exactly new news

http://www.sfx.co.uk/2012/03/30/doctor-who-series-7-pictures-the-daleks-are-back/

Past news had

-Russell T Davies loan his Dalek

-The Sun's loaned a Dalek

-A fan created Dalek

I really like the title. Between that and the prospect of every Dalek every returning, I'm beginning to have high hopes for this episode.

Well the Dalek's are like the proverbel bad penny.

Like it or not they are the Doctor's main villian. So it is envitable we will see them return, no matter how much it might look like they have been defeated.

I suspect that one day we shall see the return of The Master, despite what happened last time we saw him.

And as the main villain of the Doctor, it would be better to give them a lot more time off. That way their return can always be surprise. At this point, it's more like, "Oh, here's your obligatory Dalek episode. The Doctor is scared of them, but he's defeated them so many times that I really don't know why he's scared anymore." It's hard to make them scary when they pop up all the time.
