Dr Who finale theorizing - spoilers ho!

Am wondering how Ep13 will finish.

Will the Doctor use the Pandorica to trap all the baddies? I'm thinking a big action sequence where the aliens are pulled in like they're trapped in the pull of a giant vacuum cleaner...

Yeah interesting to note that Davison/Baker/McCoy only fought the Daleks and the Cybermen once. Then again even Tom only fought the Daleks twice didn't he?

The only weird race I've seen represented are weevils? I mean, WTF they're animals aren;t they, not a space faring race?

The Daleks: The Second Doctor's season 5 entry The Evil of the Daleks in 1967 to The Third Doctor's season 9 entry Day of the Daleks in 1972.

*cough* Season 4 *cough*

There was also a big gap between Season 17 (Destiny) and Season 21 (Resurrection), not counting the cameo in The Five Doctors.
Damn. I even looked it up to make sure. How did I manage to get that wrong? :o

The weekly "spoiler-free teasers" are up:

http://www.sfx.co.uk/2010/06/17/doctor-who-preview-2/

  1. Steven Moffat’s on top form with a brilliantly crafted episode – the perfect start to a two-parter.
  2. The Doctor and Amy visit the oldest planet in the universe, where the first words in history have a familiar ring to them.
  3. The stakes are every bit as high as in an RTD season finale.
  4. Characters from earlier in the series make surprise appearances before the opening titles – and we’re not just talking about the series recap.
  5. There’s something funny going on at Stonehenge.
  6. If you thought “The Lodger” looked like a money-saving episode, you soon realise where all that spare cash went.
  7. There’s a scene in a bar rather reminiscent of the Star Wars cantina.
  8. There’s an armada of alien spacecraft.
  9. The Doctor gets to deliver one of his “Get out of here!” speeches.
  10. There’s a brilliant scare involving a human skull.
  11. You could market an entire range of action figures on the back of this episode alone.
  12. Amy’s engagement ring is crucial.
  13. It’ll make you want to go back and watch the whole series again.
  14. Someone other than the Doctor pilots the TARDIS.
  15. The Doctor and Amy face a foe reminiscent of fembots.
  16. There’s a fantastic nod to The Thing.
  17. The Pandorica does indeed open.
  18. It also closes.
  19. The episode ends in a cliffhanger so devilish that it seems utterly inescapable. It’s going to be a very, very long week.
  20. 26 June 2010 is a very important date indeed – and not just because it’s the day of the series finale.
http://www.digitalspy.com/cult/s7/d...05/ten-teasers-about-the-pandorica-opens.html

4. Drahvins, Zygons, Draconians, oh my!

5. A nifty new Cyber-feature is revealed.

6. An unlikely alliance is formed.

7. The Pandorica opens. And closes.

8. We finally find out where those pesky cracks are coming from.

9. Death. A whole lot more death than you probably anticipated.

10. But don't despair, the last word of the episode is "love".

The episode ends in a cliffhanger so devilish that it seems utterly inescapable.

Unless you've seen the leaked photos which include Amelia opening the Pandorica in 1996; 2000 years after the Doctor gets locked inside it.

Explains the nods to William Hartnell. Maybe he cracked the universe years ago...

There’s a brilliant scare involving a human skull.

Not anymore, I'll be expecting it.

You could market an entire range of action figures on the back of this episode alone.

That's what the BBC are counting on.

Amy’s engagement ring is crucial.

*cough* Pandorica key *cough*

It’ll make you want to go back and watch the whole series again.

I've only seen two eps so far so I doubt it.

The Pandorica does indeed open.

The ep title gave THAT one away.

26 June 2010 is a very important date indeed – and not just because it’s the day of the series finale.

The day of the original wedding, the day after The Eleventh Hour finished.

A nifty new Cyber-feature is revealed.

They're actually good in this episode? Or are we talking about that "genticle" move it does on Amy when it loses it's head?

But don't despair, the last word of the episode is "love".

And they pop into the Rovers for a quick pint. "'ello love!"

We don't know when it takes place. If this alien armada is also responsible for the fall of the Roman Empire it could be as late as 476AD.

Or even the 1400s! :p

The story take place in 102AD and 1894 years later in 1996 as far as I'm aware.

Oh and if as I suspect the Pandorica is a trap, I think there's a line from earlier in the series that may be pertinent:

The Doctor said:
Didn't anyone ever tell you there's one thing you never put in a trap. If you're smart, if you value your continued existence. If you have any plans about seeing tomorrow, there's one thing you never, ever put in a trap.

I am curious to see HOW River gets back to 102AD. Either the Doctor picks her up in the future and drops her off in the past, or she's already time travelled, either without The Doctor (which would be interesting) or possibly WITH future him.

The Doctor is also holding a Time Agent's vortex manipulator in one of the shots, so maybe that was River's. Dunno.

Hmm... a Time Agent's vortex manipulator shows up the finale... and wasn't the last place we saw Captain Jack in a 'Star Wars' style cantina?

^ It could be that, or River could be a Time Agent, as some have postula...posttu...postullia...thunked before.

I think it's River's - in the clip you can see her wearing something on her wrist that looks like a vortex manipulator.
