I've been wanting to read these series for sometime. with torchwood I have every physical book in the series and would like more as for dr.who I've been reading him since the 9th dr. now it seems they are slowly transfering to the kindle. I don't have a kindle I have a nook and I was just wondering why they don't put them on both. and it frustrates so because as I said the are slowly putting dr.who novels on the kindle going all the way back to the first novel in 1965.

disgrunteled who fan. :scream::scream::scream::scream:

The very fact this still continues to be an issue is why I can't abide by e-books. Save yourself the time and headache and order a book or two from Book Depository or Amazon. They're not that expensive, and odds are you can probably find used copies of the books you don't have now since they've been around long enough. My previous signature actually referred to exactly this scenario - a real book does not require a third party's permission, software or file type for you to read.

If you can find it in any ebook format you can get it on to your nook. Eppub is the easiest but with calibre you can convert anything to a nook formatted epub.

It may be because of the fact that the nook is only available in the U.S., I am not sure about Canada at this time.

The same applied to the kindle when it was first released.

As the vast majority of fans of the shows are in the British Isles, it is not surprising that they are been made available in a format that majority can use.
In time all e-book formats will standardise and will be able to be used on any reader.

Epub is the standard. Amazon is the only proprietary holdout of note anymore annd unfortunately they have the marketshare to stay that way for a good long while.

well I mostly interested in the early DR. from the first to eigth DR..like I said earlier I have all the torchwood and dr.who books dating to the 9 th dR. but I just don't have room for a physical library anymore.

Most of the older novels are actually just adaptations of the episodes (Mostly by Terrance Dicks) although there are some stand-out adaptations which help build on the TV stories instead of just transcribing them.

Doctor Who didn't really flourish in original fiction until after the show had been cancelled, where we got the New Adventures/Missing Adventures and the BBC books (Not to mention the Big Finish stuff). A lot of the older books-especially the end of the New Adventures and Missing Adventures- are hard to find and go for expensive prices on auction sites. But it's cool that some of the EDAs appear to be showing up. "Father Time" in particular is a favorite of mine, and has a different twist on the Doctor raising a daughter than the "Doctor's daughter".

This. Calibre makes the whole thing very straightforward. I'm able to put Amazon-formatted books on my Kobo with no issues.

The publisher is making them available in ePub, B&N is simply choosing not to stock them. I'd suggest buying the ebooks from Books-a-Million instead, they seem to have the best prices.
