Oh, another question: The nacelles, should they be curved outward, inward or be completely straight? What do you prefer? Somehow, all three don't look right to me, but perhaps someone can point me in the right direction.

I like the saucer, and...well, uh...I like the saucer. I feel the aft needs some serious reconsideration; it's not the fault of the nacelles that they don't look right, but those curved pylons are part of the problem, too. Though of all three designs, I like the straight-nacelled version the best.

By the way, what program are you using?

Out of those pics I like the look of the nacelles curving inwards against the pylons outwards, though the pylons look too curved to my eyes.

Wow, that looks remarkably like a ship I doodled a few weeks ago, except mine had the nacelles hung underneath. If I can find it I'll scan it and post it.

The curved catamarans don't seem to serve a purpose. Maybe attach the nacelles to the end of them instead of using pylons at the mid length? Also, the entire ship needs more of a vertical element. It's too flat. Maybe have the catamarans curve down as well as out?

I'd rather have the impulse engines on the tips of the catamarans (straightened out NX-Class style) & the #3 "straight" nacelles mounted on the dorsal side of the catamarans at a slight thirty degree angle. Dual navigation deflectors (see "U.S.S. Phobos / Loknar-Class TMP Refit".)

Very nice design! It looks very sleek and organic!

My left-brain is having a hard time describing with words what my right-brain is going bonkers about with this ship!

I'll do my best: the twin hulls coming back from the saucer in diverging curves look like happy accidents; afterthoughts that looked cool; all pedestal and no statue. Don't change them, they are very, very, VERY intriguing, but it looks like they need some sort of follow-though. They need to DO something... maybe the nacelles need to be more integrated with them.

I shall ponder...

The hull extending back past the nacelles just looks wrong to me, as well as the curve those catamarans take...they actually sort of look like bananas. If I had to choose, I'd go with the version with the engines curving outward, parallel to the curve of the banana-hull. When they curve inward they create this weird angle, combined with the roll bar's angle, and you're left with just a ton of different angles all in one area.

Here's something I did many years ago with the same basic hull shape. I wouldn't say to go ahead and do the same thing, but maybe it'll help.

Here's a quick and dirty sketch of where I think you should go with your wonderful bi-hull design. I think this approach would eliminate the feeling that the pylons & nacelles are just sort of "stuck on" somehow.

That's better...but the ends of the hulls just hanging off the end there still look awkward to me.

In my opinion I like his original idea better.
Your take seems to be trying too hard to be gracefull and umm, flowy, is the non-word I'd use.
