Spoilers Doom Patrol - DC Universe Series

The one other thing that gets me is eyes, I hate anything that messes with eyes. I still cringe everything I watch the beginning of First Contact and the needle starts to push into Picard's eye.

My father had that same issue, which made it hard for him when I had a melanoma in my left eye in adolescence and had to get various shots and probes and things stuck in there a number of times with him watching.

Well, it was harder for me, in terms of the pain and pressure and worry and all, but at least I didn't have to watch it. :D

Oh god, I don't think I could even be in the same room when that was happening to somebody.

Yeah, it sounds like that probably wasn't particularly pleasant for you either.

I got lucky. If the state of medical science had been just a year or two less advanced, I would've probably spent the last 35 years with a glass eye.

I suspect most people find the Beard Hunter a bit "gaggy".

Oh man, I had Lasik done years ago and it's a freaky process what with the doctor imploring you to stop moving your eye while staring at a light in a dark room and you start to smell burning smoke and realize that your eye cooking from the lasers.

I just finished up the first season, and I pretty happy with how the tied things up.
I don't think there are many shows were one of the big climactic moments is a giant roach and giant rat making out.
And then there was the literal big climactic moment.
I had already heard about the big reveal with Caulder being responsible for everything that happened to the Doom Patrol, but the reveal was still a hell of a moment for the characters.
Leaving Mr. Nobody, and Beard Hunter in the painting was a nice way to take them off the board, but leave thing open for them to show back up.
I knew his daughter shows up in Season 2, but I had no idea she was such an important part of the finale, so that was a surprise.
Overall, I absolutely loved the whole season, there's not a lot of shows out there with a dimension hidden in a donkey, man eating butts, and a religious talking cockroach.

Good news on the renewal. I'm mostly indifferent on the platform though I see how that further marks the death knell for DC Universe as a steaming content provider. I do wish HBO had 4K though, it's not too big of a deal for Doom Patrol but Stargirl really benefits from HDR.

They already announced that all of DCUniverse's original series will be on HBOMax, so I took that as their way of announcing it was not longer going to be a video platform. I got impression the comics, encyclopedia, and social stuff would continue, but that would be it.

Never heard of the character, but I loved her as Missy in Doctor Who and Madam Satan in Sabrina.

I remember Madame Rouge from the Teen Titans animated series, in the season that drew heavily on Doom Patrol characters. She was an associate of the Brain and Monsieur Mallah. A shapeshifter, IIRC.

I wonder if we might see them in the new season? They're definitely crazy enough to fit in with the rest of the show.
I just read through Madam Rouge's entry on Wikipedia and the whole backstory with her being an actress, and then getting stretchy powers kinda makes her sound like an evil version of Rita.

I like Michelle Gomez, and I'm sure she'll be great, but to me Season 2 was really bad (the kid and the chief ruined the entire team dynamic and were shit characters in general), and this isn't enough for me to give it another chance, even though I enjoyed Season 1 a lot.
