Remember in Spiderman, the first movie, when Peter chases down the guy that killed his Uncle Ben and the guy ends up going out the window? Well, I saw the 3rd movie and that guy was innocent! He didn't kill Uncle Ben after all. The guy tripped, but Spiderman was right in his face and that looks pretty bad with him standing in the window above his dead body.

Blame Sam Raimi for bastardizing the backstory in a failed attempt to make the one-dimensional Sandman interesting for Spider-Man 3. Horrible, horrible decision.

Eh, they did the same thing for "Spectacular Spider-Man" except they didn't kill the burglar and just had him return later as a more important character.

Maybe they should've just had Carradine turn to have survived his fall and get turned into Sandman (whereupon he changes his appearance to that of Thomas Church).

And the guy was already a thief who probably killed people before. He had it coming.

Yeah, an incredible fuck-up that kind of bastardizes and rapes contnuity and character history for the sake of..., well, nothing really. Rami butchered and ruined Spider-man 3, that's all that can be said.

Damn, the whole point of Ben's death was that it's what pushed Peter from horsing around into hero mode.
