Donny's TOS Enterprise Interiors

Re: Donny's TOS Enterprise Interiors

Why can't any one try to talk about the older star ship from the tv show from 1966?, it sure be real nice to talk about the in side of the old
Ncc 1701 of each deck of this star ship and not: a,b,c,d,e.
I am talking about the first star ship that Kirk took over from cap pike.
The show was on TV from 1966 to1968.

Yes. As Tallguy indicates, please see the first 30 (well, more like 40) pages of this thread. In fact, that's why the thread is called "Donny's TOS Enterprise Interiors."

Re: Donny's TOS Enterprise Interiors

Argh. I'm just gonna rename the thread again. This time to "Donny's Kirk-Era Enterprise Interiors". Or something like that.

Re: Donny's TOS Enterprise Interiors

None of the Enterprises in this thread have that suffix.

Re: Donny's TOS Enterprise Interiors

Started on laying out some of the console panels tonight. Just this one was more work than I thought, because I had originally built the entire console too small and had to rebuild it from scratch before I started on the panels. This means I have to rebuild ALL the bridge consoles from scratch, unfortunately, since they were all based on the size of the same one :(

Getting just the right colors and animating these things takes a while as well, but I'm liking how they're turning out so far. Here's the finished communications console.

If you do that, you'll just get inquiries as to when you're going to render some JJ-prise interiors. :p

Not that I would have noticed the console was the wrong length anyway, but this is awesome. All that's missing is a certain communications officer with her big silver earpiece.

Re: Donny's TOS Enterprise Interiors

I don't have to tell you how tired I am this evening...

Loving the way it's looking though. I know I'm just building up the anticipation when I say the animations are coming along nicely...

The accordion-style buttons have a nice glow effect to them.

Re: Donny's TOS Enterprise Interiors

Those accordion switches are gorgeous, I could almost reach out and touch them!

Re: Donny's TOS Enterprise Interiors

Each new update is even more eye-poppingly incredible than the previous one. And let me add my voice to the chorus of love for your accordion buttons.

Re: Donny's TOS Enterprise Interiors

Thank you all! Glad to be bringing some joy to you Refit fans.

Re: Donny's TOS Enterprise Interiors

Donny:

Really LOVING your work on the interiors. I have a couple of questions ....

Have you ever tried using UNREAL4 engine to model exteriors of the ship? Build your own Connie? I'm wondering what it would make the Enterprise look like. The interiors are damn near photo real, I'm curious what you could do with the ship itself...

I haven't tried yet, and I'm not sure if I really want to. There are so many great CG models of the Refit Connie out there, better than I could probably make, and I could simply use one of those and covert it for use in Unreal 4.

We'll see.

Re: Donny's TOS Enterprise Interiors

Yeah, best to focus upon a an area that others have not considered. That way, you establish the "benchmark".

Sincerely,

Bill

Re: Donny's TOS Enterprise Interiors

Based on what has been shown here so far, "benchmark" and "gold standard" are synonymous. :)

Re: Donny's TOS Enterprise Interiors

Come to think of it - where the hell IS that supposed to be located, anyway? I don't recognize the shapes around it. Next to the non-existent yellow alert console, maybe?

Just an FYI, while gathering more references on the weapon's console displays, found a clearer view of the location of the manual photon firing joystick cover today:

Re: Donny's TOS Enterprise Interiors

Finished up the weapon's console tonight.

I know things are a little dark, but you get the picture. Trying to maintain that TWOK feel.

Details...

(EDIT: Here's a better lit view)
