I think it's been mentioned elsewhere that kennysmith has a handicap of some kind. Best thing we can do in this case is either report or ignore.

Donny, I am all for some TNG rooms. :techman:

If I go forward with TNG for a bit, I will most certainly start a new thread.

And yes, I agree that it probably would've been wise to start a new thread once I started with the TWOK stuff......

......but I didn't. It still falls within TOS because it's the TOS movie-era. But who cares? The fact is, it's been a journey. And one that will continue at that. But yes, for the sake of no starting any more era-battles, I will put TNG stuff in it's dedicated thread.

But if I ever get around to doing Enterprise-E interiors, I'm sticking them in the TNG thread. ;)

I don't recall being on MissionLog....I was on Tricorder Transmissions last year. Was that what you were thinking? And while I was not featured in any interviews at the convention, I did catch up with the guys from Tricorder Transmissions. They plan on having me back on the show soon.

D'Oh! Yes I think you are right. MissionLog also do a report from Vegas and I must have got them blended in my head. In my defence, it was a year ago :devil:

I am also looking forward to seeing what you do with the TNG sets. Given that most of them were little more than redressed movie sets (especially in the first two seasons) the connection between the two projects seems obvious! :)

I'm looking forward to seeing what Donny does with the TNG sets, especially how much of his prior work on the TWOK sets will be transferable without a huge amount of changes (apart from colors). Should be cool. :)

Exactly. Especially since the set designers wanted to save money by using the existing standing sets, the E-D areas should be relatively easy to flesh out, particularly with Donny's modeling skills. And I say that knowing that I have absolutely no earthly idea what I'm talking about whatsoever! :D

I do know that those sets did change and grow bigger over the years with added rooms and such - like Astrometrics, Data's Lab and the Warp Nacelle area, just off the top of my head. I'm assuming you're going with a Season 7 layout and palette, Donny?

Yes. I'm going to be drawing references from season 6/7, as I feel that the sets had reached a very refined, uniquely TNG feel. Going with the earlier seasons will feel a little too close to a rehash of TWOK.

Donny, always love all of your work. It is amazing! I was just curious why you never attempted Main Engineering when you were on TOS.

I just got burned out on the TOS stuff before I'd attempted Engineering. Whenever I get bitten by the TOS bug again, I plan on Engineering being the first item on my checklist.

Donny, do you follow John Byrne's forum, Byrne Robotics, at all? He's built a pretty impressive TOS Engineering Room for use in his NEW VISIONS comic book series.

Have been enjoying this thread for a long time and am really looking forward to the TNG sets. Was wondering if you will do the tv series Stellar Cartography or the Generations version? :)

I am looking forward to seeing your TNG sets as well. I do agree the first season was more of a redress of TWoK sets to save money butt he later seasons acquired a unique feel all their own.
There also many fascinating areas of that ship we never saw, just heard about or saw on a diagram it would be fun to see modeled- the Main Shuttle Bay for one.

Donny, I am blown away, amazed, agog and other superlatives by your stunning work! As Kirk would say, a thank you is in order and is hereby ordered!

TMP/TWOK is far and away my favorite design period and you show places I've always wanted to see -and have only managed a faint glimpse at an angle in a blurred screen grab til now.

I agree, better to take a break than get burned out indefinitely-. One thing I hope to see-whenever you do get around to it-would be Kirks or Spock's TWOK/TMP era quarters. I'd love to see your interpretation of those hidden areas, especially that elusive corner nook and bath-which thus far we only know from Mr. Scott's Guide.

But meanwhile, best to rest if the muse isn't with you and try something else til the TWOK bug bites afresh. Til then, good sir, thank you!

Donny, I don't know if you've ever come across this before. Someone posted it to the "TMP Appreciation Society" Facebook group the other day, and I'd never seen such a great view of the bed in Kirk's quarters before. Figured you might find it useful when you eventually get around to the officers' quarters.

Yes I did see this from the TMP, but I did not like that type
Of the way of the layout from the movie.
I did like it from the TOS of his quarter.
If you do like the movie of TMP you don't
To use this word of TOS, it is not the same.
