Donny's TOS Enterprise Interiors

Ok! So I've got my first sculpt complete and in-game. It's one of the little tribal heads we see in Kirk and McCoy's quarters. It's not a perfect replica, but I think it's close enough. I may take another sculpting pass on it tomorrow, as I've noticed a few things I can fix to make it a little better (for instance, the band going across above the brows should be more pronounced). This was the test case for the rest of the sculpting that will be required of me. This took an entire night of work and agonizing over proportions and form, so it's not as easy as I thought it would be, but fun nonetheless and I learned a lot. Check it out!

Band aside, that looks like a dead on match to me!
The crew sure liked that head statue, didn't they?!

Thanks, @Mytran!
As I was sculpting, I thought that maybe they were gifts from a species in return for some goodwill from a landing party that at least Kirk and McCoy were part of, sometime prior to “The Man Trap”, of course. ;)

Anyone else think that this sculpture inspired the look of the Klingons in Discovery? Hey, maybe that's who the Enterprise crew got it from....

If I were Bones, I wouldn't want to put all that stuff on the shelf. Once ion storm shaking the ship and he'll get hit in the head with a bookend, or whatever that other thing is hidden by the monitor.
Given how much TOS loves velcro, I'd imagine that those objects are well secured ;)

OTOH, why are those books stacked on their with their spines in the air?

I would be hesitant to characterize these artworks with the loaded term "primitive", especially given how non-european they look.

Nice work, though. :)

I questioned it after I posted it as well. Thank you for calling me on it!

Here's tonight's updated version, after so much agonizing over details. Still not perfect, but I think I'll just have to say it's good enough.
I think they look spot-on, @Donny! I envy your skills. :techman:
