Referring to the actors playing the shuttle crew, not the entire cast of the TOS episode. With Leonard Nimoy's passing, Don Marshall is the sole remaining shuttle performer.
Until this morning I believed there were two left after Nimoy, because Peter Marko (who played Gaetano) had no death notice in IMDB until apparently recently. He died in 1991. On rare occasions official notification fails to happen for prolonged times. This seems to be the case here. So Peter Marko's death precedes DeForrest Kelly's, making Marko the first.
Living actors who were inside the Galileo 7.
That just announced/revealed death notice for peter Marko is dubious.
They list his birth year as 1917--14 years earlier than Nimoy/Shatner and even older than Doohan.
His first acting credit is for 1964 at age 47? and he acted until 1970--age 53 and quit?
Then he never acted again and died in 1991 at age 73.
IMDB allows people to add in facts like birth and death dates with little fact-checking.
IMDB listed for years---- TNG, Twilight Zone, To Kill a Mockingbird, actress Kim Hamilton as being born in 1945--meaning she was 14 when she appeared in a TLZ episode where she had a ten year old son!?
It wasn't corrected till she died.
Not saying it's impossible that they are right about Marko's death, but it's is as I said----dubious.
I agree, very sad of course.Wow, very sobering and depressing. I met Don Marshall a few years ago in Houston and he was great (I also "met" the Galileo there as well).
Joel, I'm sorry, but you lost me. Can you clarify?
What does portrayal of black characters have to do with Marshall's performance(s)?
