dominion vs the borg in many criterions

Captain Triggered

Lieutenant
Red Shirt
1) which villain did you prefer?

2) which had/has more potential, and which faction got closer to their potential (from a quality villain point of view i mean)

3) which has left a better general taste in your memories?

4) how many non-jobber cubes to conquer the alpha quadrant dominion at the peak of their prowess against the federation? how many non-jobber cubes to conquer the entire dominion, gamma quadrant included, at their peak?

5) can founders be assimilated? what about the heavy genetically engineered footsoldiers the jem hadar? would they still need tetracyl white as drones?

1. I preferred the idea of the Borg. A collective/machine intelligence with zero interest in lifeforms, only the acquisition of new technology? Massive, decentralized cubes that could be largely destroyed...but still functional? They were awesomely different. Then, however, they devolved into zombies with a queen who wanted to destroy Earth, only they were into implants. Ho-hum.

2. The potential of the Borg depended on the imagination of the writers. The Dominion were used very well, I though: introduced as a concept in season 2, expanded on as an ominous thing in season 3/4, then the outright conflict of the last few seasons. The Dominion "story" is unique in Star Trek -- nothing was developed quite like that, and given such prolonged intensity.

3. I still think the Borg are cooler as an idea, but the Dominion's execution was far better. Sure, they're just another empire, but they were different enough and handled very well.

4. Non-jobber? 'Fraid I don't follow the meaning.

5. If Borg implants from the 24th century had problems with Denobulan physiology, it seems likely the changelings' goo would frustrate them as well. I don't know why the nanites wouldn't be able to zip through the Jem'Hedar, and ditto for repairing their need for the white.
