Dominica Corsi's axe

Sci

Fleet Admiral
Admiral
Groupmind! I'd like to ask for some help.

In the Star Trek: S.C.E. novel Wildfire by David Mack, Dominica Corsi is revealed to own a firefighter's axe that has been in her family since the early 21st Century. On the axe is inscribed a tribute to firefighters who lost their lives in the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

I'm afraid that my copy of Wildfire is one of many items that are still in Ohio since I moved to the Washington DC area, and I can't seem to find any online sources that transcribe that inscription. It was incredibly moving--would someone mind transcribing it for me?

Many, many thanks!

A firefighter performs
only one act of bravery in his life,
and that is when he takes the oath.
Everything he does after that
is merely in the line of duty.

Actually, the Corsi family axe was first revealed in S.C.E. #16 Oaths, by Glen Hauman.
